(Clearwisdom.net) Central News Agency report: On April 25, 1999, around ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners held a peaceful appeal in Beijing. Six years later, Ottawa practitioners held a candlelight vigil to commemorate the peaceful appeal and to protest a new round of arrests in China.
According to Falun Gong, as of today 1,890 practitioners have died due to torture and persecution, and the Chinese Communist regime has not stopped the persecution. Fourteen family members of Canadian practitioners are imprisoned in China, with the longest sentence being 8 years.
On April 22, news from China verified that in recent days a series of arrests and raids took place in Shandong, Liaoning, Tianjin, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Hubei Provinces.
Tonight, in a cold wind and drizzle, Ottawa practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy to commemorate those practitioners tortured to death and protest the ongoing persecution by the Chinese Communist regime.
