May 3, 2005 |   By a practitioner in Korea

(Clearwisdom.net) The "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition was held at various locations around Korea between September 2004 and January 2005, and it resumed again in April 2005. From April 4-8, 2005, it was held at Hong Ik University, and from April 18-24, 2005, it was held at the Yangcheon-gu Culture and Art Hall in Seoul.

Hong Ik University respects freedom, equality, and peace. Its art program is famous, and many artists in Korea graduated from this university. It is claimed to be the cradle of Korea's art world. Holding an art exhibition at this university is especially meaningful.

During the exhibition, faculty and students came to view the paintings. Many of them learned the facts about Falun Gong after viewing the pieces.

A teacher from the language center at the university said, "I didn't know that the persecution of Falun Gong was so brutal." She was moved to near-running tears. She took truth-clarification materials. A Chinese student told us, "I know that some senior Chinese officials are practicing Falun Gong."

An art teacher from a nearby high-school asked his students to view the exhibition after he himself viewed it. Many high-school students then came to view the exhibition at noon. It became a good opportunity for the young students to learn facts about the Chinese Communist regime and the Jiang faction's persecution of Falun Gong.

On April 18, 2005, practitioners held the exhibition at Yangcheon-gu Culture and Art Hall, Seoul.

Beginning on the first day of the exhibition, many employees and residents came to the hall to view the exhibition. Several kindergartens organized children to view the paintings and learn the facts of the persecution. Students from a nearby primary school came to view the paintings during self-study time. Their teacher in-charge gave them homework to write about their experiences of viewing the exhibit. Practitioners introduced Falun Gong to the children, and the practice left a deep impression on them.

A mother brought her child to view the paintings. She considered leaving, as the persecution exposed in the paintings was cruel. A practitioner told her that many children from kindergartens had viewed the exhibit, and that it was a good opportunity. The mother then viewed all the paintings with her child.

On the same day, there was a conference for Buddhist monks at the biggest temple in Korea. After the meeting, many of them came to view the paintings. On the square in front of the exhibit hall entrance, Falun Gong practitioners practiced the exercises, and many people became interested after viewing the group practice.

On Friday, there was an activity for handicapped people. Practitioners held group practice and displayed posters about the persecution. A young man viewed the paintings and brought his friends to view them on the second day. A lady said that her daughter was a high-school student and knew Falun Gong was good. Her daughter was moved after reading truth-clarification materials, and she later gave a speech at her school on the persecution of human rights.

During the exhibition, the dining hall was under repair, so employees had to use the dining hall on the first floor. Thus most of them viewed the paintings and group practice. On the second floor was a theater. Beside the hall, there was another hall where a marriage ceremony took place. Many passers-by also viewed the exhibition. On Saturday, the exhibition ended after 10:00 p.m.
