CNN: CHINESE DIPLOMAT SEEKS TO DEFECT, ALLEGES SPYING AND KIDNAPPING NETWORK

A senior Chinese diplomat on the run in Australia claims China has a network of about 1,000 agents in the country who have been involved in kidnappings of dissidents. The diplomat, Chen Yonglin, said his work in Australia included monitoring the activities of dissident Chinese groups, including Falun Gong practitioners and supporters of Tibet, Taiwan and Uighur separatists in western China. Chen, 37, consul for political affairs at the consulate-general in Sydney, left his post on May 26 and has sought political asylum from the Australian government for himself, his wife...and their six-year-old daughter.

EPOCH TIMES: CHINESE POLICE OFFICER SEEKS ASYLUM, SPEAKS OUT AGAINST CCP

A Chinese security agent hiding in Melbourne [Australia] has been inspired by the recent defection of Chinese diplomat Mr. Chen Yonglin and The Epoch Times' Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, to reveal information about the massive human rights abuses inside China, especially those against Falun Gong practitioners... After leaving a tourist group in Australia in February, 32-year-old Mr. Hao Fengjun sought political asylum, and in an interview with The Epoch Times on Monday, June 6, said he belonged to the Tianjin province's 610 Office. The 610 office is a Chinese security agency which was established to oversee the persecution of Chinese people who practice Falun Gong or belong to other spiritual groups... "Chen Yonglin is a diplomat and he stepped forward to speak clearly for Falun Gong and democratic activists. I think, as a policeman, I have a responsibility to do the same," Mr. Hao said.

NEW YORK: COMMUNIST PARTY VICE SECRETARY FOR ACADEMY OF SCIENCES RECEIVES DEFAULT JUDGMENT IN NEW YORK COURT

The Chinese Communist Party Vice Secretary for the Academy of Sciences was served with a summons and complaint during a recent visit to the U.S., suing him in the United States federal court in New York for genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity, and exposing his role in a massive, secret persecution campaign carried out behind closed doors in his homeland, China. Though he was served with the legal papers on February 23, 2005, Mr. Guo never responded in any way to the lawsuit. Earlier this week, Judge Kaplan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York handed down a default judgment against Mr. Guo.

CHINA: 102 TORTURE AND ABUSE-RELATED DEATHS REPORTED

102 torture and persecution-related deaths of people who practice Falun Gong in China were verified and reported over the past two and a half weeks. While some of the deaths reported occurred recently, others are from months or even years ago, but are only now being uncovered and reported due to Chinese authorities' tight control over information about Falun Gong practitioners in custody.
