(Clearwisdom.net) I would like to expose the unlawful activities at the Shayang Forced Labor Camp, in order to raise awareness about the evil nature of the persecution at this camp.
Upon their arrival at the labor camp, many Dafa practitioners refused the illegal sentence of forced labor, and as a result they faced barbarous tortures to various degrees. Those assigned to monitor the practitioners frequently punched and kicked them. (The monitors are drug addicts or other types of criminals.) The monitors tied the hands and feet of a female practitioner from Wuhan onto two beds that were located at opposite sides of the hallway in a room. This way, her body was lying in the middle of the hallway and she could not move a bit. One drug addict scrubbed her private parts using a dirty toothbrush, which caused her to develop an infection. Another Dafa practitioner, in her 50's from Xianfan City, refused to memorize and recite the labor camp regulations. As a result, the monitors grabbed her throat and choked her, pinched her breasts, and kicked her back using high heeled shoes. In order to force this practitioner to obey their orders, five male guards from the discipline section were transferred to the women's team. Each of them used an electric baton to attack her until her mouth was bleeding and her head was swollen. Liu Bing, a guard from the brainwashing class slapped her in the face. To hide their evil acts, they locked her up until the swelling went down.
The persecution of male practitioners was also outrageous at the Shayang Forced Labor Camp. In addition to being punched and being kicked, some of the practitioners were even force-fed with feces. Some of those who had accepted the brainwashing and became members of the "Help-and-Teach Team" later decided to resume their practice of Falun Gong. As a result, they were given longer terms in the labor camp.
When more evil acts had been exposed, the labor camp changed its tactics. If a practitioner refused to give up Falun Gong, he or she would be forced to stand or kneel down for an extended period of time. Some practitioners were forced to stand from early evening until 4 or 5 o'clock the next morning, which caused their legs to swell so badly that they could not walk.
Practitioners not only encountered physical abuse but also mental persecution. After a practitioner experienced the so-called "camp entrance education" and became willing to "obey," the labor camp would arrange the so-called educators to brainwash him or her night and day. Several such educators would take turns talking to one practitioner. If the practitioner refused to give up Falun Gong, he or she would be persecuted both physically and mentally. The tortures included being forced to carry feces to the field during the day and to attend the brainwashing lectures at night. If one still resisted, he or she would be separated from other practitioners and sent to the drug addict team, where several criminal inmates would monitor and abuse the practitioner. The tortures in this team were even more brutal.
The labor camp feared that those who had given up Falun Gong would change their minds and resume the practice. If one had expressed any sign of this, he would be put into the "enhancement class" for more intense brainwashing.
Dafa practitioners are forced to do heavy labor. They have to work more than ten hours every day. At the new provincial women's labor camp, the practitioners go to the workshop at 6 a.m. and leave there at 8 or 9 p.m. If one did not finish the production quota, she would have to work overtime until 3 or 4 a.m. the next day, which violates the camp's own regulations. The regulations clearly state "half a day of working and half a day of studying. In general, work hours are not to exceed 8 hours per day."
Facing the persecution, Dafa practitioners still consistently demonstrated their compassion, which made the drug addicts feel guilty about everything they had done to these practitioners. They said privately to each other, "Falun Gong people are so kind."
Practitioners used every opportunity to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to the people in the labor camp. One practitioner wrote an open letter to those who were arranged to give lectures in the brainwashing class, which greatly frightened the evil.
The above are just a few things that happened in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp. The facts clearly prove that "Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts." (from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
