Germany: Berlin Candlelight Vigil in Memory of Gao Rongrong (Photos)

July 20, 2005

(Clearwisdom.net) On the 16th of June 2005, another female Falun Gong practitioner lost her life in China through unimaginable, brutal and inhumane torture by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Her face had already been disfigured by prolonged torture with electric shock batons in 2004.

On the 7th of July, Falun Gong practitioners from Berlin and Leipzig gathered at the Breitscheidtplatz and held a candlelight vigil to commemorate Gao Rongrong. At thirty-seven years old, she was detained and murdered in Shenyang under orders from CCP authority Luo Gan.

The harmonious energy field of the practitioners while sending forth righteous thoughts and practising the Falun Gong exercises caused many pedestrians to stop. Some practitioners talked to people of different nationalities, in German as well as in English, about the Falun Gong practice and the way practitioners conduct themselves as well as the persecution in China, which has taken over 2,600 lives.

The passers-by received flyers and newspapers so that they could find out more. One flyer showed a picture of Gao Rongrong before she was tortured, as a healthy, young woman, and also showed her disfigured face after the torture. Many pedestrians were speechless at this brutality and asked what the reasons for such cruelty are. When they heard about the persecution in China by the CCP, many showed their consternation and sympathy and kept asking how they could help.

Some passers-by signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution; others wanted to tell their relatives, friends and acquaintances about this. Some wanted to know where the practice sites were so they could learn the exercises, as well as the websites, so they could get more information.
