Facts of the Persecution

1. Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Li Aiying Still Detained in the Qiqihar City Labor Camp

From February 16 to March of 2004, prison guards tortured Falun Dafa practitioners who were firm in their belief day and night, causing Ms. Xu Hongmei, Ms. Zhang Liqun, and Ms. Gao Shuying to sustain severe injuries. In order to cover up these crimes, the terms of these practitioners were extended. Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Li Aiying both were sentenced to three years of forced labor in April-May 2002. Their families went to the camp many times to pick them up, but were refused. On May 16, 2005, Ms. Li Aiying's mother (in her 70s) went to request the release of her daughter. The camp detained her until 6:00 p.m. The camp, which is designed to enforce the law, violated the law itself.

2. Persecution at the Shandong Province First Women's Labor Camp

Former First Ward Director Wang Shuzhen (female) is very cruel towards Falun Dafa practitioners. When some of the elderly Falun Dafa practitioners refused to accept brainwashing, she would force them to do cleaning, carry water, and perform heavy labor. One practitioner suffered from the symptoms of a stroke, but Wang Shuzhen would not allow her to have bed rest. Wang often tortured Falun Dafa practitioners by locking them in solitary confinement, hanging them up with handcuffs (1), tying them up and beating them, etc. Another guard, Liu Jianhui (female), often insults, curses, and tortures Falun Dafa practitioners at will and also extends practitioners' terms. Guards Sun Juan (female), Sun Liqun (female), and Liu Ruiqin (female) often ransack practitioners' personal belongings and go through their mail, and they do not allow practitioners to share daily necessities with those in need.
