Aug. 5, 2005

(Clearwisdom.net) Six years ago, on the 20th of July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started a persecution against Falun Gong in China that shocked the world. To commemorate over 2,600 Falun Gong practitioners who have been persecuted to death and to appeal for an end to these human rights abuses, Spanish practitioners held a peaceful protest at the Chinese Embassy in Spain. The biggest news agencies in Spain -- EFE and the European News Agency --the National Radio Station and some TV stations interviewed practitioners and reported on the activity. The following is a report from the European News Agency called "Falun Gong Exposes the Crimes of Genocide in China":

On Wednesday, about twenty Falun Gong practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Madrid to expose the crimes of the Chinese Communist Party and the cruel punishments committed in this Asian country for the last six years.

The demonstrators declared in front of the banners and pictures of the cruel punishment methods, "We will use our voice to tell the people and the media that what is happening in China is the most savage and brutal crime of genocide in human history. Hundreds of thousand of people are persecuted because of their belief."

Mr. Iglesias, a human rights lawyer, said, "Today is the sixth anniversary of what the former president of China Jiang Zemin started, and that is the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners."

Iglesias said that yesterday they handed in a letter to the Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodrguez Zapatero, who is going to visit China. They hoped that he will pay attention to the persecution and the cruel abuse of human rights in China. "Do not forget that protecting human rights, lives and dignity will always be above the pacts of the economy and culture," Iglesias said in conclusion.
