Fantastic Stories Heard in Prison

In 2001, while I was imprisoned in a detention center in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, I met a Tibetan from the Alba region. After learning the truth about Falun Dafa and experiencing the compassion of Dafa practitioners, she told a practitioner that she knows a Buddhist Lama who is very knowledgeable and understands many languages. The Lama is reading Zhuan Falun. "The Communist Party and its police are terrible. I will also read Falun Dafa books when I get out of prison," she said.

After I was illegally arrested and imprisoned in the detention center on Ningxia Street of Chengdu City, I met an old, lay Buddhist who told me that she used to practice cultivation in a remote temple. One early morning she saw an old monk sweeping the backyard. The monk had finished an extensive meditation retreat. Realizing nobody else was around, the monk asked her, "Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?" Surprised at his question, she said no. The old monk appeared to be very disappointed and left. "At that very moment I realized how unusual Falun Gong must be," she said.

Once under tremendous pressure from the authorities, I showed a weakened resolve in my belief. Witnessing my problem, an older sister cautioned me with compassion: "Never betray your teacher or your cultivation way under any circumstances." Observing my confusion, she told me her personal experience. She was born into a family of cultivators (her ancestors practiced Qimen practices, if I remember correctly). The cultivation book her ancestors left behind even talked about the spread of Dafa and its eventual persecution. It is said that now is the pivotal point of a change from the old cosmos to the new one. Once it passes this point, everything will be changed. The entire universe will be changed according to the book. She told me that a long time ago she saw the Falun emblem in her family book. Finally, she stressed to me that I must not give up my practice or betray my teacher. "You must be steadfast no matter what difficulties you encounter," she said.
