(Clearwisdom.net) I was fortunate to learn about Falun Dafa in 1998. Before that, the complicated social environment and my choice of a ruthless life path had led me astray. I was lost. I had read many books and learned many kinds of qigong, hoping to find the true meaning of life. I was eagerly looking for a great teacher to give me direction. It was a once in a thousand millennia opportunity that I found Master and obtained the book Zhuan Falun. Ever since I started reading Zhuan Falun, Master’s profound principles have awakened me. I’ve found the only path to return home. I knew my opportunity had finally come. This is what I had dreamed about finding. This is what I had been waiting for my whole life. I was excited and inspired. I firmly believe in the direction of the cultivation path Master pointed me to and will practice until the end.

Assisting Master to Spread the Fa; Offering Sentient Beings Salvation

Dafa moved me and changed me mentally and physically. I have a whole new perspective on the human body, human life, and the universe. My mind and body were purified. My xinxing has improved. Everything has been so wonderful. I have to tell all predestined people about this great, advanced cultivation practice encompassing body mind spirit. I told my wife and daughter. They started practicing in the spring of 1999. In 2004, my oldest son walked onto the cultivation path as well. This is exactly what it says, "The Buddha light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities." (Zhuan Falun) We had created a good family practice environment and continued to improve and harmonize within it.

Although we all have been through the cruel persecution that started on July 20, 1999, and we have all endured hardships, we’ve always believed in Master and the Fa, enabling us to withstand all pressures and difficulties. Although we have lost the group exercise opportunities, we still have a good family practice environment. We have never stopped practicing during the past seven years. Three more predestined people joined in cultivation, and five more people read Zhuan Falun. Naturally, our home became a group Fa study locale. The new practitioners study the Fa with the veteran practitioners. We’ve been encouraging one another and practiced diligently together. My wife and I were able to read all the Dafa books and understand Master’s principles even more clearly.

We are grateful for Master’s compassionate salvation. If we practitioners during the Fa-rectification period don’t cultivate ourselves diligently, we will be ashamed to face Master!

Breaking through the Barriers to Form One Body; Doing the Three Things Well

Since the persecution began in July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has used many different ways and means and the most evil lies to slander Dafa. This severe situation was a serious test for us newer practitioners. We had been outside our hometown when we started practicing Falun Gong. We were not able to connect to any fellow practitioners in my hometown when we returned. But we firmly believed in Master and the Fa.

We never gave up. With the good family practice environment, we were able to continue to practice and study the Fa and continue to look for fellow practitioners. In 2004 a practitioner found us before we found him. We were so delighted that we started sharing experiences and studying the Fa together. He brought us Master’s new lectures and helped us catch up with the advancement of Fa-rectification.

After the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" was published we were able to read it several times and recognized the evil nature of the CCP even more. Our whole family withdrew from the CCP and its organizations and clearly recognized the urgency of clarifying the truth and rescuing sentient beings. We started distributing copies of the Nine Commentaries and persuading people to withdraw from the CCP. Many people learned about the truth, withdrew from the CCP and were rescued. My wife was unexpectedly able to connect with the local practitioners. We realized that this was not incidental. Master’s Law Body had guided her. We found out that our local practitioners had already formed study groups and diligently practiced and studied the Fa. They have been doing the three things steadily. Since then, we were finally able to get more of the new lectures and new truth-clarification materials. We’ve received great support for our work to spread and validate Dafa and do the three things well.

Having Righteous Thoughts and Taking Righteous Action; Clarifying the Truth and Offering Sentient Beings Salvation

While helping people quit the CCP and doing the three things, we have had many experiences.

Studying the Fa is the most important thing. Only when we clearly understand the Fa principles are we able to utilize the mighty power of Dafa to awaken people’s minds to voluntarily withdraw from the CCP so they can have a wonderful future. In the meantime we were able to cultivate ourselves and eliminate many human notions and attachments, such as the attachment to fear, the attachment to zealotry, the show-off mentality, the mentality of being busy, and others.

We realized that doing three things well is also a cultivation process. For example, when distributing truth-clarification materials, the first attachment to eliminate is the attachment to fear. As long as we have strong righteous thoughts and understand that we are Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period, we are the most noble and greatest future gods. We are here to offer salvation to sentient beings; what we are doing is the most righteous and greatest thing in the universe. If we are aware of that, then the attachment to fear will melt in no time. Our compassion to offer sentient beings salvation will overcome the attachment to fear.

This is what we usually do: before we depart for fellow practitioners’ homes to get truth-clarification materials or to go out to distribute the materials, we always go before Master’s picture to ask for Master’s strength. We send forth righteous thoughts and eliminate the evil on our way, clear away the evil dark minions and rotten demons, and eradicate the Communist evil specter and all of the evil factors of the Communist Party in other dimensions. We also use our righteous thoughts to strengthen the truth-clarification materials so they can help spread Dafa, rescue sentient beings, and eliminate evil.

During the past several years, no matter how many materials we have had to distribute, we always maintained righteous thoughts and righteous actions. Our home was the center. We delivered door to door and continued to expand the range to get more predestined people rescued.

When the Minghui Weekly exposed the CCP’s crimes of organ removal from living Falun Gong practitioners, two of our local practitioners were arrested. A fellow practitioner told me this. I had a lot of truth-clarification materials in our home then. My first thought was: the evil is so anxious to persecute Dafa. We should send forth righteous thoughts even more to eliminate the evil. We should deliver the materials more quickly to expose the evil. That same night we distributed large amounts of truth-clarification materials and effectively dissolved the evil. We always felt wonderful after each such outing on our way home; our hearts and minds were purified. We realized Master was purifying our bodies. Due to our righteous thoughts and righteous actions, we were able to validate the Fa and steadily offer sentient beings salvation during the past few years.

Improving Xinxing; Overcoming Sickness Karma

As we all are aware, cultivating in Dafa requires that we study the Fa diligently, harmonizing with the Fa and assimilating to the Fa. We also need to continue to improve our xinxing and correct our deviated thoughts and notions. If we are not strict with ourselves, the evil will take advantage of us and interfere with and eventually break us down. When we face our attachments to recognition, reputation, sentiment, and lust, among others—even though we encounter those again and again—we eventually overcome these attachments. When facing "sickness karma," however, someone in our family almost fell into the trap and lost everything we had gained thus far. Recalling this severe lesson, we felt ashamed to face Master. Here is what took place:

A couple of years ago my wife broke her right hand. We didn’t realize it was sickness karma, so we just asked the doctor for medicine and to set the bones. Several days later her skin reacted to the medicine. We still didn’t realize what was happening and continued to apply the medicine. It eventually became a full-blown, severe allergic reaction all over her whole body. She suffered from itching, redness and pain.

We suddenly realized something: Master’s principles are explicitly clear! But our human notions prevented us from understanding the Fa. We realized that we had not studied the Fa well enough and didn’t understand it completely. More accurately, we didn’t truly believe in Master or believe in the Fa. Digging further, it was due to the attachment to fear. We feared the sickness. We had fallen into that trap for too long. It was so dangerous!

After we had understood the Fa principles and improved our xinxing, my wife made up her mind to give up on medicine, study the Fa diligently, and continue to do the three things well. Without even being consciously aware of it, her skin recovered and became very smooth and healthy. She no longer had any pain or itching and regained her energy. That one thought had made the difference! Since then, we have put even more emphasis on Fa study and cultivation. We are very grateful to Master’s compassionate salvation.
