With True Belief in Master and the Fa, One Will Not Be "Reformed"

Oct. 27, 2006 |   By a practitioner in mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) After having walked a deviated path in cultivation, I began searching for my fundamental attachment. I found many attachments, such as not studying the Fa well, seeking Consummation, selfishness, seeking comfort, showing off, attachments to doing things, etc. Nevertheless, I felt that I had not found my fundamental attachment, and the root cause had not been dug out.

Recently, several practitioners I know had not completely let go of the attachment to profits, and as a result, the old forces took advantage of the loophole. At the time, a sentence always resonated in my mind, "Do they believe in Master?" This seemed to repeat incessantly. One day it suddenly occurred to me that "Do they believe in Master" was no longer about those several practitioners. It seemed to be from a distant space in the vast universe and struck into the depth of my being. "Do I believe in Master?" I now asked myself. "Is my belief in Master one hundred percent and rock-solid?" The answer from my conscience was negative.

I had a sudden realization, I had found my fundamental attachment. It had hindered me, interfered with me so that I could not have righteous faith and righteous enlightenment, and could not become a qualified Dafa disciple. It manifested in many ways. Here is a simple example: When some practitioners were seriously persecuted by the old forces in the form of "sickness karma," they said they did not acknowledge the old forces' arrangements. However, they treated themselves as patients. No matter how others communicated with them from the Fa's perspective, they could not improve their understandings, and eventually they let the old forces destroy their human bodies. When I talked with other practitioners about those things, I often added at the end, "It is easy to say it to others. If I were in that tribulation, maybe I could not overcome it either." After I said it, I always felt that it was not me who said it. I added it to be modest. Was it my true self? No! Why did I say so? If we truly believe in Master and the Fa how can we not pass through the tribulation?

Master said,

"Indestructible righteous faith in the cosmos's Truth forms benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Diamond-Like Bodies, it frightens all evil, and the light of Truth it emanates makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate. However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is. Dafa disciples are truly stepping forward out of ordinary humanness." ("Also in a Few Words" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)

If we truly believe in Master and the Fa, will we enlighten along an evil path? Will we be "transformed"? Will we cooperate with the evil? Will we fail to pass the tribulations? Will we fail to let go of attachments? Definitely not!

Please allow me to use Master's words for our mutual encouragement:

"So as a cultivator, what is truly remarkable is when you can be steadfast and have righteous thoughts so firm that nothing can sway you. Be solid and firm like diamond, or granite, and then nothing can affect you--evil will be afraid at the mere sight of you. If upon encountering trying circumstances your thinking can be truly righteous, then, when faced with the evil's persecution and when faced with interference, just one sentence of yours fortified with steadfast righteous thoughts can instantly make the evil disintegrate (applause), and it will make those who are being used by the evil turn and flee, it will make the evil's persecution of you dissolve, and it will make the evil's interfering with you disappear without a trace. One thought born of righteous faith is all it takes. And whoever can hold firm that righteous thought and go the distance will become a magnificent god forged by Dafa."
