Florida, USA: "Persecution Meets Principle" at Human Rights Day Event in Naples (Photos)

Dec. 15, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) Naples, Florida—Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Cambier Park, Naples, on December 9 to mark U.N. Human Rights Day with an exhibit called "Persecution Meets Principle."

Practitioners introduced the public to Falun Gong, to the Chinese Communist regime’s crimes against the Chinese people—including the use of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience as a source of live organs for sale—and to the ongoing tuidang movement of quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its organizations.

Human Rights Alert: At a December 9 rally in Naples, Florida, Falun Gong practitioners mark U.N. Human Rights Day by raising awareness of China's use of Falun Gong practitioners as a living pool of involuntary organ donors.

Organs for Sale: Falun Gong practitioners portray Chinese communist regime’s use of living Falun Gong prisoners of conscience as a source of organs for its lucrative organ transplantation industry.

The exhibit was centered around a large gazebo with banners and posters displayed on all sides. Anyone who walked by could see the whole message. The exhibit included pictures and text highlighting the CCP’s history of crimes.

Inside the gazebo, there was an organ-harvesting tableau, petitions, and information for the crowd. The tableau depicted an operating room with a doctor extracting organs from a Falun Gong practitioner. Outside on the lawn, practitioners taught the Falun Gong exercises and how to make origami Lotus flowers.

Visitors were shocked to learn about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and the Communist regime’s organ harvesting atrocities.

A gentleman from Naples said, "I had never heard of Falun Gong before. This is an atrocity that is occurring, one that could keep happening for a long time if people aren’t made aware. If I hadn’t walked by today, I would never have heard of this, and I read some pretty big publications."

An Exercise in Tranquility: A practitioner demonstrates Falun Gong exercises to a Naples resident.

After reading about the persecution and looking at the photo displays, he stayed to learn the Falun Gong exercises. He could not understand how the regime in China could view Falun Gong as a threat. "These exercises are about your body’s energy and making yourself stronger," he said.

Adalberto, from Mexico, heard about the persecution of Falun Gong for the first time. "I am just shocked," he said. "I never imagined that things like this were still happening in 2006." He said he liked China but thought there should be an Olympic boycott to try to end the persecution. "I am very upset about this. I am this close to crying."

One family stayed a long time, taking in the information about the persecution, learning the Falun Gong exercises, making origami Lotus flowers, and signing a petition calling for an end to the illicit organ harvesting from the prisoners of conscience.

An art show underway next to the gazebo brought more people to the Falun Gong exhibit. All day long art show patrons gathered near the entrance to the gazebo, reading the banners and checking out the operating room scene.

At first, the organizer of the art show was upset that the exhibit might draw attention away from the art show. However, after talking with practitioners, learning the truth, and seeing practitioners’ kind handling of her concerns, she was satisfied and told one of her colleagues, "You don't need to worry about it; these people are great!"
