Some Thoughts after Reading Articles about Traditional Chinese Culture

March 8, 2006 |   By a practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) A new column, "Traditional Culture," has been appearing in the "Minghui Weekly Magazine" for several months. After reading it, I was inspired and enlightened. I have come to understand that the true meaning of Chinese culture is its "semi-divine" nature as was mentioned in the Fa.

The characters and the stories mentioned in the "Traditional Culture" column have high standards in their realm of thought and meet the requirements of the universe's characteristics of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." It is easy to tell that those people had extraordinary inborn quality. Their stories can definitely help a practitioner's xinxing improvement.

It is very sad that the precious traditional culture was buried deeply by the evil Party's culture in China. Young people's minds are filled with atheism and the CCP's lies and "class struggles." The evil Party's culture is leading people towards self-destruction. Looking at the older generations that value traditional culture, many young people regard them as being superstitious and simpleminded. Practitioners, however, are able to tell how horribly the moral standard has declined. The minds of many everyday people are numb, as they have been suppressed. It has prevented them from distinguishing good from evil during this chaotic time.

This reminds me of one of Teacher's poems from "Hong Yin 2":

Danger

The world's morality declines day by day, everyone furthers the process
Rotten ghosts take the lead, and humans follow
I worry about the people of the world
People don't care about themselves

I think that some of the stories in "Traditional Culture" could be used as reference materials for truth-clarification.
