Danish Newspaper Politiken Reported on the CCP's Trade on Organs Harvested from Living Falun Gong Practitioners

June 26, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 11, well known Danish newspaper Politiken published a report entitled "China Sells Organs Removed from Prisoners" by Ole Wong, its correspondent in Shanghai.

The report quoted the advertisement of a hospital in Shanghai, "Unfortunately few overseas people have heard of the China International Transplantation Network Assistance Centre. Patients are thus forced to wait for their organ donors for many years. Meanwhile, they may risk losing an opportunity for a successful operation."

The advertisement, the report commented, was intended to attract foreign patients who have been desperately helpless and tired of waiting for organ transplants. Based on the report, a high-ranking official in China admitted that most of the organs were harvested from the executed prisoners. The current law in China regulated that organ donation must be approved by the agreement of the prisoner himself. But it has been little known whether the regulation was enforced. It has been repeatedly reported that organs of the executed prisoners were removed for sale without the agreement of their family members.

The Falun Gong group of meditation claimed that practitioners in China are being imprisoned in thirty six concentration camps where their organs are harvested, even when some of them are still alive, said the report. Falun Gong launched an international campaign to remind the media and governments to express their concern over the issue.
