June 9, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) [Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]

On May 23, 2006, practitioner Ms. Zeng Aihua, 57 years old, from Shanghai, also a Hong Kong resident, was illegally arrested. Officers from the New Pudong District Police Department arrested her in her Shanghai home and ransacked it. At the time of the arrest, her family members were in Hong Kong and Australia and didn't receive any notice regarding her arrest. On May 25, 2006, her daughter in Australia could not find her and phoned the Puxing Road Police Station within Ms. Zeng's precinct. The daughter asked about her mother's whereabouts and was told that she was being held in criminal detention for making truth clarification materials. The officials at the No. 4 National Security Section of the New Pudong District Police Department are responsible for the arrest. Right now, Ms. Zeng is in the New Pudong District Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Bo Gendi from Shanghai, who started practicing Falun Gong around the same time as Ms. Zeng, has also disappeared. We suspect she was arrested at the same time as Ms. Zeng. Ms. Bo was previously sent to forced labor camp twice and held in the Qingsong Women's Labor Camp in Shanghai for five years.
