(Clearwisdom.net) On May 30, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners called on the Hualien County Council to strongly condemn the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in concentration camps and forced labor camps in Mainland China. On the same day, council member Liu Hsing-mei proposed a resolution to condemn the CCP's atrocities of live organ removal. The seventeen council members unanimously passed the resolution.

Council member Liu Hsing-mei said that the Falun Gong practitioners' freedom and human rights deserved immediate attention. She hoped that the Hualien County Council and County Government would pay close attention to the issue and collectively condemn the CCP's atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners. She also suggested that the county's Health Department warn the public not to receive organ transplantation from Mainland China and stop such inhumane conduct by the CCP.

The council members jointly supported the proposal. Council member Zhao Shi-yuan said that the CCP's violation of human rights, especially harvesting Falun Gong practitioners' organs, should be strongly condemned and stopped.

After witnessing the Falun Gong practitioners' actions, a reporter said that the media has an obligation to tell more people about the CCP's atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners.

The resolution includes the following points:

  1. Calling on the United Nations, international human rights organizations and the World Health Organization to form a coalition with Falun Gong practitioners to conduct on-site investigations in China, publishing the findings and stopping the CCP's atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners.
  2. Requesting the Department of Health in Hualien County to direct and help medical professionals establish ethical rules for directing patients to get organ transplants in mainland China to prevent unknowing assistance with human right violation.
  1. Requesting the Hualien County government to publicize information about the CCP's illegal live organ removal.

Following the resolutions to condemn the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong by Chiayi County, Yilan County, Keelung and Tainan, this is the fifth resolution from local Taiwan governments to express their voice of justice.
