(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the Shanghai public security, national security, and all levels of government personnel rampantly arrested and persecuted Dafa practitioners. The following are some of these cases:
At the end of March 2006, when Dafa practitioner Hu Shunfang from Jinshan Petrifaction District, clarified the truth to the people, she was illegally arrested. Now her whereabouts is uncertain.
At the beginning of April 2006, Dafa practitioners Mr. Gao Hongdeng, Zhou Huilin, and Yu Peiying clarified the truth when they took a taxi. Afterwards, they were tracked by the taxi driver and were reported to the authorities. The details are under investigation.
On April 27, when Dafa practitioners Ms Wu Jingfang and Ms Wu Meifang, elder and younger sisters, distributed truth-clarification materials in a supermarket, they were arrested and their family’s property was confiscated by the police. Now they are imprisoned in Zhangjiang Detention Center in Dongxin District, Pudong. Ms Wu Jingfang once had serious heart disease and asthma and took sick leave at home for a long time. Now her health is very bad. When her family members wanted to visit her, they were beaten and abused by police and were not allowed to visit. A Dafa practitioner from Puxi is also imprisoned with Ms Wu Jingfang and Ms Wu Meifang.
At dawn on April 30, when Dafa practitioner Ms Jiang Yufang from Zhabei District in Shanghai prepared to remove a banner that slandered Dafa, she was arrested by the evil people waiting in ambush. Now she is imprisoned in Qingpu brainwashing center.
Around noontime on May 5, when Dafa practitioner Ms Zhu Xuejuan from Xuhui District and other two fellow practitioners clarified the truth in a supermarket, they were reported to the authorities. Later on, they were arrested and taken away by the 610 Office personnel and police. Now they are imprisoned in Minhang District Detention Center. One of these three practitioners, a 75 year-old practitioner, has already gone home safely.
On May 10, Dafa practitioners Ms Xu Chenghua, Ms Zhai Qiaoying, Ms Tao Yudi and another Dafa practitioner (whose name is uncertain), from Xuhui District were arrested at home by some local malevolent people.
On May 13, Dafa practitioner Ms. Yuan Yahui (about 56 years old) was arrested. Now she is imprisoned in Jinshan Jail. On the same day, her daughter delivered a baby.
On May 14, Mr. Huang Jiayuan (about 35 years old) and Mr. Chen Chen (about 33 years old) were arrested. Now they are imprisoned in the Jinshan Jail. Mr. Huang’s wife is 2 to 3 months pregnant. His father lies in bed and cannot take care of himself. His mother has died under the huge pressure. Mr. Chen personally owned a very small computer service company (Shanghai Hui Repairing Computer Science and Technology Company. Ltd.). It was boarded up on the day he was persecuted.
On the afternoon of May 16, Dafa practitioner Ms Jiang Suying from Hongkou District was on her way to a meeting when she was abruptly arrested by the 610 Office personnel and police. The next day when Ms Jiang was imprisoned, she exhibited symptoms of hypertension and urinary track infection. The jail refused to accept her. They tried very hard to send her to Tilanqiao Jail hospital. Her recent situation remains unclear. On the evening of May 16, her husband, Mr. Lu Dehuan, was also arrested by police and was mercilessly beaten by three police officers. He was threatened with torture. Now he has returned home and there are many scars on his body. Their son Mr. Lu Weidong was secretly sentenced last year for three-and-a-half years. He is imprisoned in Tilanqiao Jail.
On May 23, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zeng Aihua (57 years old) from Shanghai, who is a Hong Kong resident, was arrested at home and her family property was confiscated by the police. She was imprisoned in Xinqu Jail in Pudong. When her family members overseas made a call to the fourth Section of the National Security, Xinqu Public Security Sub-bureau at Pudong inquiring about the details, they were given the dodge that the person in charge was not there. Later on, they did not answer their calls.
Dafa practitioner Ms Bai Gendi from Shanghai was arrested at the same time. She is imprisoned in Xuhui District Jail. Ms Bai was sent to forced labor on two occasions. She was imprisoned in Shanghai Qingsong Women’s Forced Labor Camp for a total of 5 years.
On May 24, two Dafa practitioners Ms. Dong Xiangru (over 50 years old) and Ms. Wang (over 40 years old) from Hangzhou, both working in Shanghai, were arrested for distributing truth-clarification materials. Their residences in Shanghai and their homes in Hangzhou were confiscated. They are currently imprisoned in Hangzhou City’s Laodongyue Prison. Several years ago Ms. Dong’s son was sentenced to four years because he practiced Falun Dafa.
Around May 24, Dafa practitioners Ms. Yuan Xiufang (61 years old), Zhou Licheng (about 65 years old) and his daughter from Xuhui District were arrested when they were printing truth-clarifying materials. .
On May 25, Mr. Du Zhilong from Hongkou District was arrested by 610 Office personnel and police. He is imprisoned in Baoshan District Detention Center. His wife was taken away for interrogation by police at the same time. She was later released but there is no news on Mr. Du.
On the evening of May 25, Dafa practitioner Little Wang from Puto District was arrested and his home was confiscated by 610 Office personnel and police.
On May 30, Dafa practitioner Ms Chen Yaoqin (approximately 57 years old) who lived in #501, Linfen Street 1513 Lane 30, Pengpuxin Village, Zhabei District, was forcefully arrested by Zhabei sub-bureau 610 Office police Zhou Zhiyi, Tang Jinfeng, a policeman surnamed Wang from the Sanquan Street local police station, other police, the residents’ committee from 1513 Lane, Liu Guiying and other people. Ms Chen is imprisoned in Zhabei District Lingshi Street Jail.
On June 1, Ms Chen Yaoqin’s husband, who was unable to withstand the pressure, suffered a mental collapse and was taken to a hospital. Ms Chen’s oldest daughter, 31 years old, was mentally retarded at birth and has serious hypertension. Suddenly losing the care of her parents, she became absent-minded and her blood pressure shot up. She was reportedly sent to a welfare home the same night that her father was taken to the hospital.
On May 1, 2006, International Advocates for Justice (IAFJ) published some statistics which show that the Falun Gong group has filed as many as 54 civil and criminal lawsuits in 33 different countries on the five continents against Jiang Zemin (former Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party), Luo Gan, and 30 other high-level officials of the Chinese Communist Party who have been playing the most active roles in the persecution of Falun Gong. As of April 2006, in addition to the lawsuits filed against Jiang Zemin in 16 countries around the world, other high-level officials of the Chinese Communist Party, including a former Vice Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, the Minister of Culture, the Minister of Commerce, a former Minister of Education and the Minister of Information have also had suits brought against them.
We hereby strongly request that all illegally imprisoned Dafa practitioners be released immediately and that all persecution of Dafa practitioners be stopped!
