Minghui School Summer Camp in Chungli, Taiwan (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 18, 2006, the ten-day children's Diligent Progress Summer Camp came to a close. Over 30 young practitioners from the southern Taiyuan area had a rich and fruitful ten days.

This was the first time for Chungli practitioners to organize a summer camp for children. The schedule included Fa-study, exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts and art classes. One major task was to have all in attendance read through Zhuan Falun once. The youngest practitioner is only 3 years old, so we could only read one lecture each day.

The exercises were arranged between Fa-study sessions. Five sets of exercises were divided into three sections in a day. For the first week, the teachers focused on teaching little practitioners how to send forth righteous thoughts, reading Master's writings about sending forth righteous and listening to stories from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. In the art classes, the children painted what they thought to be the right posture for sending forth righteous thoughts.


Day campers form small groups to perform short dramas

In the second week, the art class had a more difficult project. The practitioners were separated into small groups to prepare a short drama. The stories were from those depicted in Zhuan Falun. The stories were chosen randomly, and each group had a mix of different aged practitioners. The goal was to put on a dramatic performance on the last day of the camp.

The older boys and girls were appointed to be group assistants. Many times you could see an assistant reminding a distracted member and helping the youngest to read one word after another. One boy stayed up until 2 in the morning to finish the script for the drama. Some young practitioners went home to make stage props late into the night. Their unselfish contributions were very moving.

On the last day, it was time to display the achievements of the summer camp. The art works of the first week were displayed, and the children performed the dramas on stage. After all the programs were completed, the campers took a break, shared snacks and talked about their experiences from the two-week summer camp.
