New Zealand: People Moved to Tears by "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibition (Photos)

Sept. 6, 2006 |   By a practitioner from New Zealand

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 23-30, 2006, a "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibition was held in the Art Center in Christchurch, New Zealand. Visitors were amazed by the art works, which display the beauty of Falun Dafa. Many people cried in front of the art works which portray the brutality of the persecution of Falun Gong.

An artist from New Zealand cried half way through the exhibition. She had to go outside to calm down. She told practitioners, "I never cried at an art exhibition. This is the first time." She said that the art works deeply touched her heart, especially the ones which display the brutal tortures. She felt like she too was tortured. She said that she was deeply moved by the solid belief that practitioners have and the brutal persecution.

This artist came back again on the last day of the exhibition. She finished looking at all the art works. She told practitioners that this is real art, because real art has divine beauty and is meaningful, and it is touching and makes people think. Real art doesn't make people guess what it's trying to express. She said that the art works were really beautiful and she would come again the next time.

Most visitors learned more about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, although many had heard about it on TV or in the newspapers. The brutality of the persecution that the art works displayed directly shocked the visitors. Many visitors asked questions, such as, "What is Falun Gong? Why does the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecute it? What can we do?" Practitioners answered these questions and recommended the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to the attendees. Many visitors accepted the copies.

Many Chinese people also came to the exhibition. A student from Beijing said that he knows that Falun Dafa is good and how brutal the persecution is. His mother, who started practicing in 1999, gave up under the CCP’s pressure. Practitioners told him that, as the art works display, Falun Gong practitioners all over the world are trying to stop the persecution in a peaceful way, and many practitioners are clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to let more people know about the evil nature of the CCP. Many practitioners have convinced people to quit the evil party. This student agreed with practitioners and quit the Young Pioneers and Communist Youth League organizations under his English name. Practitioners asked him to tell his mother not to miss the opportunity to cultivate. This student said that he would tell his mother what he learned.

A young Chinese couple told practitioners that they read the Epoch Times every week, and they always put the newspaper back so that more people can read it. They also get information about Mainland China from the Sound of Hope radio station. They understand what the art works try to express, since they know the truth from the media. They hope that they can do something for the practitioners, because practitioners work very hard to let people know the truth. Practitioners thanked them for their offer.

Through the exhibition, practitioners realized how much the art works can touch people. When a visitor shook practitioners hands with tears, practitioners clearly realized that sentient beings are waking up. "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities"—these words best describe their feelings about the exhibition.
