My Thoughts on Choosing Articles for Experience Sharing Conferences

Oct. 9, 2007 |   By a European Falun Dafa practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) I've just been at a European Experience Sharing Conference, and I would like to share my thoughts concerning this event.

We are now in the last phase of the Fa-Rectification. I believe all practitioners who are cultivating diligently can feel that we have limited time to save people. I think the main purpose of this conference was to encourage practitioners who have not yet joined the truth clarification work to come out, to encourage those who have not done well to do well, and to encourage those who have been too busy doing things to find their weaknesses, so that we can all do better in saving sentient beings. Everything should serve our current main task--cultivating ourselves and saving sentient beings.

If we paid attention, we heard clearly that Teacher said: "Dafa disciples' cultivation is not merely for individual Consummation" in the greetings for both recent Fa conferences. I personally think that this directly pointed out the insufficiency of our experience sharing conferences. I noticed that during the recent European Fa Conference, many new practitioners focused on their experiences of individual cultivation, including better health and better family relationships. I personally think this type of sharing should not be read during a Fa conference, or the parts about pure individual cultivation should be removed, and the focus should be more on how the new practitioner improves when doing the three things.

When talking about their experiences doing Fa-validation, some practitioners did not rationally look inward for things that needed to be improved or how to save more beings, instead, they just listed what they have done and how much they have done. This made it seem as if they were afraid that others would not notice what they had done. I think if a practitioner mentioned giving some thoughts to his xinxing cultivation and saving beings, it would have been preferable. I think the practitioners who chose the articles should suggest that the speakers talk more from the view of rationality.

I have been to an international Fa conference before. I was touched by what every speaker said--they were all doing their best to validate the Fa and at the same time look for their shortcomings. I heard many times practitioners who went to the international Fa conference say: "I'm so far behind compared with these practitioners. I shall work harder." I think that reached the true meaning of "Compare in Studying, Compare in Cultivating."

I hope in the future when practitioners write articles for Fa conferences, we should consider whether the materials would benefit other practitioners. For those who are responsible for choosing the articles, please check carefully and consider whether the articles will have positive effects for other practitioners during the Fa-Rectification period. If not, the articles should not be presented.
