Do the Three Things with a Compassionate Heart of Saving People

Nov. 6, 2007 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) Today I was memorizing these sentences in the section "Martial Arts Qigong" in Zhuan Falun:

"...saw a person there writing. Upon writing, he gave off his qi to each word with his hands, and the qi emitted was all black. His mind was preoccupied with money and fame. How could he have gong? His qi could not be good, either."

I suddenly understood that when we are doing the three things, we should not do them with the purpose of just trying to get them done, and neither should we base our thoughts or actions on ourselves or view things from a low level. If that is the case, how could we make good truth-clarifying materials? If we have that mindset, we will get half the results with twice the effort. We could even affect things in a negative way, resulting in unnecessary losses.

When we make materials, our minds should not be preoccupied with raising our level, building up our mighty virtue, or finishing up the job, completing the task, etc. These kinds of bad thoughts are not in line with Dafa's overall requirements. If our minds are preoccupied with these thoughts and we stop at this level, we are likely to "emit black qi" onto the materials and greatly reduce their effect of saving sentient beings. We must have compassionate hearts for saving people, and let the materials carry a message such as: "Completely eliminate all evil that prevents people from getting this material; completely eliminate all evil in their minds; let this person understand the truth and be saved; and let this person realize 'Falun Dafa is good' and withdraw from the evil Party, Youth League and Young Pioneers, and stay far away from the evil."

It is the same principle when we distribute materials. We should not distribute materials with the purpose of just distributing materials or finishing a job. We may feel content that we have accomplished something, however, we may have damaged and tainted those righteous materials that other fellow practitioners have made. As a consequence, the materials might not have the effect of saving people. Only with a compassionate heart and a strong will for saving people can the materials be pure and powerful, and produce the greatest effect of saving sentient beings. Of course, it is even worse if our minds are preoccupied with worry and fear. With that mentality, it is likely that we will not only inhibit the materials' righteous power, but we may also add some bad messages to the materials, which could really cause danger for ourselves.

The same principle applies when we clarify the truth in person. We must have a heart of saving people, know that this person can be saved, clear away all of the evil factors in his mind, and then we can achieve the best results. Any selfish or personal thought is not pure and will "emit black qi" to the person we are trying to save and the result will not be good.

The same is also true when writing an article to expose the evil. We should not have the thought that the more we expose the evil, the more likely we are to suffer persecution. With this thought, our words will carry evil qi and the article will contain dangerous messages. This could produce the opposite result and even lead to more persecution. So when we are writing an article, we must ask Master to strengthen it and allow it to maximally expose the evil.

In sum, when we are doing the three things, we must always have a pure, compassionate heart with the thought of saving people. With righteous thoughts we can achieve twice the results with half the effort.
