(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhu Zize Still Detained
September 29, 2007, was to be the day practitioner Mr. Zhu Zize was to be released after five years in prison. His father traveled more than 310 miles from their home in Jianyang City to Wumaping Forced Labor Camp in Leshan City to see him. The Zuyang City 610 Office took Mr. Zhu directly to a brainwashing center in Yingji Town, Ziyang City, without letting the father see his son. In the brainwashing center, three government employees were assigned to watch Mr. Zhu around the clock, and he was told he would not be released until he wrote a guarantee statement. Mr. Zhu went on hunger strike in protest. Every three or four days he has been brutally tortured by being force-fed, and he is very weak. There are more than 20 practitioners in custody at that brainwashing center.

2. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Bai Hong Escaped Police Custody
On June 18, 2007, Ms. Bai Hong and another practitioner went to clarify the truth at Hougezhuang Market. She was followed and arrested and taken to Liyuan Police Station. The police confiscated her bike. Ms. Bai quickly escaped from the police station. The police went to her house the next day, but her mother refused to cooperate with them because of the illegal arrest of Ms. Bai.

3. [Chengwu County, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Shujun and Ms. Zhang Fenglan Detained
Mr. Song Shujun, in his 60s, is a retired factory worker and lives in Songzhuang Village, Gaoding Township, Chengwu County. On the morning of October 8, 2007, he was arrested by the police from the County 610 Office, the Political Security Division of the county police department, and the local station. He is currently being detained in Chengwu County Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Fenglan, in her 40s, was forced to leave home because of constant harassment from the police. Ms. Zhang was doing hard labor outside of the town. Sometime around October 2007, she was arrested by the police from Chengwu County Department in Dongying City, and is now being detained in Chengwu County Detention Center.
4. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] On September 11, 2007, Mr. Yang Ning from Zaozhaung City Sentenced to 18 Months Forced Labor and Taken to Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City
5. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Hui'en Arrested
On November 28, 2007, practitioner Ms. Wang Hui'en was arrested at her workplace. The police ransacked her home, and took her computer. She is now being held in Dongfeng County Detention Center.
6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about Ms. Zhou Liyan
On November 19, 2007, agents from Xinghaiwan Community Administration (CCP Secretary Liu) arrested Ms. Zhou Liyan. She was forcibly taken to Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City. The agents deceived her nine-year-old daughter along with Xinghai Elementary School Administrators to obtain information about her.
7. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yao Jiaxiu Forcibly Taken to be Tortured in a Mental Hospital
8. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Qingxiang Arrested
At around 10:00 a.m. on November 30, 2007, practitioner Ms. Zhang Qingxiang and her son went to Yanji City Government Service Hall to apply for the renewal of their personal identification. Two employees forced Ms. Zhang into a room and locked the door to interrogate her. Her son asked to see her, but he was prevented by the guards outside the room. The police threatened to arrest him if he did not stop asking to see her. The police took Ms. Zhang away and her whereabouts are unknown.
9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhi Yeqing Arrested
Ms. Zhi Yeqing lives in Shinan District, Qingdao City. At around 8:00 a.m. on November 29, 2007, she was arrested on her way to work. The police from Xianggangzhong Street Station ransacked her home in the afternoon. She is being detained in Xianggangzhong Street Station and her family's requests to visit her have been denied.

11. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Police from Jincheng District Department Harass Practitioners
On November 21, 2007, police officer Yang Zhanshan and Chief Wang Jianwei (male) from Jincheng District Department used the excuse that they were recruiting for the army to harass practitioners and confiscate Falun Dafa books.

12. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Meixiang Arrested
On November 27, 2007, police from Yuzu Township Station arrested Ms. Zhou Meixiang from Shuzi Village. She is being detained in Qian'an County Detention Center.
13. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Ms. Cheng Xiaomei Arrested
On November 28, 2007, the police arrested Ms. Cheng Xiaomei in Jiyuan City. Ms. Dong Yulan and Ms. Wu Xiaoxian were also sentenced to forced labor.
14. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yufang Arrested
Ms. Li Yufang lives in Tai'an Village, Liaoheyuan Township, Liaoyuan City. At around 3:00 p.m. on November 29, 2007, she and another practitioner were passing out truth clarifying materials, and were reported. The police arrested her, ransacked her home, confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials, and detained Ms. Li in the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.
15. [Dalian City Liaoning Province] Four Older Female Practitioners Arrested
On the afternoon of November 29, 2007, four older female practitioners were passing out truth clarifying materials near Sanba Square. The police from Guilin Street Station arrested them, ransacked their homes, and confiscated their Falun Dafa books and materials. The practitioner's family members requested their release that same evening, but all of their requests have been denied.
16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Shuwen Tortured by Being Confined in a Small Cell
Ms. Lu Shuwen, 58, is currently detained in Kaiping Labor Camp in Tangshan City. She is locked up alone in a small cell (1) with the all of the windows and doors covered to keep the cell dark. Guards and prisoners are trying everything they can to force her to submit to the brainwashing and give up her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." She is steadfast in her faith.
Note: (1) Small cell - The detainee is locked up alone in a very small cell. The guards handcuff the practitioner's hands behind his back in a fixed position, in which the practitioner can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night rats run about. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
17. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Lisha Arrested in Beijing
Ms. Tian Lisha from Wendeng City was working as a house maid on Yanyue Lane, Dongcheng District, Beijing. On the afternoon of September 24, 2007, she was clarifying the truth to two plainclothes policemen and was arrested and taken to the police station. She is now being detained in the Chaoyang District Detention Center. When her family finally located her, they were denied their request to visit her.
18. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
On the afternoon of November 29, 2007, three practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts in Erdaopeng Neighborhood, Jianghan District. Plainclothes officers body searched the practitioners and they were taken to the Hanxing Police Station. Four or five hours later, two of them were released, but the third practitioner is still being detained.
19. [Changchun City, Jiilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
At around 4:00 p.m. on November 4, 2007, practitioner Mr. Chen (a pseudonym) was arrested on the roadside, but was released after he failed a physical exam.
Between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. on November 5, 2007, police suddenly stormed into the home of Mr. Cui (a pseudonym) home and arrested him. He was later released because of physical reasons.
More than a dozen police officers stormed into the homes of practitioners Mr. Han and Mr. Li and ransacked the homes. They left after nothing incriminating was found. Mr. Han and Mr. Li were forced to leave their homes to avoid being arrested.
20. [Chifeng City, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region] Practitioner Ms. Jin Yuzhu from Hongshan District Forcibly Taken to Brainwashing Center by District 610 Office Agents on November 29, 2007
21. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Kan Hongyan Facing Trial
Ms. Kan Hongyan lives in Wuchang District, Wuhan City. On June 22, 2007, police officers Zhou Jie (female), and others arrested her at home. She was taken to Wuhan City First Detention Center. Ms. Kan was rejected by the center because she had high blood pressure and other ailments. However, the 610 Office forced the center accept her. Ms. Kan passed out several times because she was so weak. Her trial date was set for December 5, 2007, by the Wuchang District Court.
22. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
On November 30, 2007, policeman Wang Chuanhai and others from the Puji Town Station received a report from Gaizhou Village officials and went to arrest five practitioners from Gaizhou Village, including Ms. You Xiuyun, Ms. You Xiuqing, Ms. Li Yueying, and Ms. Zhao Guiqin. They are in custody at the town police station.á
23. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Sun Yunfeng ArrestedAt around 8:00 p.m. on November 18, 2007, Mr. Sun Yunfeng was reported to the police. Shuangfu Police Station Director Tian (male, given name unknown) lead a group of officers to arrest Mr. Sun at his home. His whereabouts are unknown.
24. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Zhonghua and Ms. Wang Fengying Sentenced to Forced Labor
On the morning of November 30, 2007, agents from CCP Political Security Division of Hailin City Police Department, and Hailin City Detention Center took Ms. Li Zhonghua and Ms. Wang Fengying to Harbin City Women's Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Li was sentenced to two years of forced labor and Ms. Wang was sentenced to 18 months.
25. [Yakeshi City, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region] Police from Yakeshi Picked Up Practitioner Ms. Xiaping in November 2007, Took her Directly to a Brainwashing Session Held by Yakeshi Forestry26. On November 17, 2007, the police arrested practitioner Ms. Shulian at her home in Pangjia Village, Dingzhou City. She was reported to the police for clarifying the truth to Peng Pingfu (male), a villager in her home village.
