Hong Kong: Call for Action to Rescue Fellow Practitioners Illegally Detained by the CCP

Feb. 10, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners and representatives from rescue groups appealed to the Hong Kong Legislators and the Hong Kong government, and also called on people from all walks of life to help rescue two Hong Kong practitioners, Ms. Lin Lixia and Ms. Zeng Aihua, who are being illegally detained in mainland China. Legislator Leung Kwok Hung, who came to show support, condemned the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime’s unruliness and lawlessness, and requested that Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen help obtain justice for Hong Kong residents who have been arrested.

According to Sound of Hope Radio, reporting on February 7, 2007, dozens of Falun Gong practitioners and representatives from concerned groups held a press conference in Charter Garden, calling on people from all circles to help rescue two Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners, Lin Lixia and Zeng Aihua, who are currently detained in mainland China. Spokesperson for the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association, Kan Hung-cheung, pointed out that two practitioners were illegally arrested and detained by the CCP authorities for persisting in their freedom of belief and right to appeal. Zeng Aihua is facing an illegal trial.

Mr. Kan said that they asked the related authorities of the CCP to immediately stop committing its crimes, and release the two innocent Falun Gong practitioners. They also called upon the international community to urge the CCP regime to immediately stop the brutal persecution of Falun Gong that has lasted for more than seven years, so that all illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners can be released.

The husband of Falun Gong practitioner Lin Lixia, Ye Jinhai, said that his wife had her documents confiscated by the police last September, and she was unable to return to Hong Kong. On January 18 of this year, the police duped her into leaving her residence and then arrested her. But the authorities did not give any reason for the arrest.

Ye Jinhai said that he went to all places possible during the past week and confirmed that Lin Lixia is being detained at Futian Detention Center in Shenzhen City. The unit that arrested her was Nanyuan Police Station of Shenzhen City Police Department.

Hong Kong citizen Ye Jinhai said that his wife has practiced Falun Gong for nearly ten years, and she has benefited greatly in her physical health. Her temper has changed to be gentle, and she is more considerate of him.

Ye Jinhai continued that though he is not a practitioner, he supported his wife’s belief. However, since the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, their family has been plunged into a great disorder. His wife has been arrested numerous times by the CCP, and was once sentenced to a forced labor camp for two years for clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. In 2003, she came to Hong Kong with a one-way permit. As her parents in mainland China are old and in poor health, so she had to travel between Hong Kong and the mainland. On September 23, 2006, she was once again arrested and released on October 24 thanks to rescue efforts from the outside world. But her Home Return Permit and Hong Kong ID card were confiscated by the police and she is now forced to stay in Shenzhen.

Legislator Leung Kwok Hung, who came to show support, said that as a legislator, he is responsible for upholding justice. He said that he felt that if Tsang Yam-kuen was not courageous enough to help obtain justice for Ms. Lin, who had been arrested by the CCP’s law enforcement agents, a case that has a specific charge and concrete evidence, he was not doing his work for the Hong Kong people, but for the CCP. He hoped Tsang would prove with his sincerity that he deserves his job.

A representative from the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (Hong Kong branch) pointed out that in addition to these two practitioners, six more Hong Kong residents’ relatives in the mainland have been subjected to persecution for believing in Falun Gong. After the press conference, they marched from Charter Garden to the government headquarters to submit a petition to Tsang Yam-kuen.
