Investigation Lead: Tongji Hospital Threatens Staff Not to Disclose Information About Organ Transplants

April 11, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) After the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners were exposed, the Falun Dafa Association and the Minghui/Clearwisdom website launched the "Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" (CIPFG) on April 4, 2006, and started collecting evidence on a large scale. Below is some evidence we have recently received. We hope that people who know the truth will continue to help us expose the persecution of Falun Gong in labor camps, prisons, and hospitals throughout China, so that these atrocities can be stopped.

Investigation Lead: Tongji Hospital Threatens Its Staff - Do Not Disclose Any Information Regarding Organ Transplants

Tongji Hospital in Wuhan City, Hubei Province delayed the payment of their staff's February salaries until March 7-8, 2007. It was said to be due to some Americans visiting the hospital to investigate their organ transplant practices. The hospital demanded that no staff member disclose any information about organ transplants. Anyone who violated this rule would have their salary reduced or would be fired.

Investigation Lead: Live Organ Harvesting of Inmates Is No Longer a Secret

An alarming scandal was recently leaked from Jidong Prison of Hebei Province. It was said that a wealthy man was in search of a kidney donor amongst people under imprisonment (including Falun Dafa practitioners). One kidney donation would earn the inmate 150,000 Chinese yuan in reward. The donor could also be released immediately if his remaining jail term was short, or his or her jail term could be shortened. Keenly aware of the CCP's live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, those practitioners currently jailed in Jidong Prison were all concerned about their fates. We urgently call for the attention of all righteous people around the globe on this matter. We call for a thorough investigation of this matter by the CIPFG and a stop to such cruel persecution.

Investigation Lead: Organs Used in Kidney Transplants in #301 Hospital Come from Yanbian in Jilin Province

A kidney transplant patient of #301 Hospital (The General Hospital of the Chinese Liberation Army) disclosed that she had a kidney transplant operation by Xiao Xuren, most likely a director at the hospital, in June 2004. The source of the kidney was Yanbian, Jilin Province. The box containing the kidneys arrived in the evening, labeled with the age and gender of the donor, who were all young males in their twenties. According to the patient, all of the donors were male. This hospital had contracts with the party providing the kidneys.

This patient was with a batch of nine patients. All of the transplant operations were conducted in the evenings or late at night. They did not understand why it had to be done in the evenings. Most of the transplant receivers did not do well afterwards but her conditions was quite good. One of the patients' transplants failed. The patients awaiting transplants came from all over the country. This patient spent less than 50,000 yuan on the transplant.
