I used to be an argumentative person. Once, I “clarified the truth” about Dafa to people at a class reunion party, and someone said something against Dafa. He just kept talking endlessly. I became impatient and started to argue with him loudly. As a result, he stopped talking and fell silent in an uneasy manner amidst a burst of laughter.

After I returned home, I realized that I had been irrational and, above all, I had failed to clarify the truth. This reminded me of a joke. Two people argued whether ginger grows on trees or in the soil. They pledged that the one who gave the wrong answer would lose a donkey. With the judgment from a third party, presumably, the one who deemed that ginger grows on trees lost his donkey. However, the loser still insisted: “Although I lost my donkey, ginger still grows on trees.”

Thinking back what I had done that day, I asked myself: “Was I clarifying the truth then? Could I have clarified the truth in such a tone? Did I really make him understand? Did I make him understand the profound meaning of Dafa? Wouldn't he insist that 'ginger grows on trees,' still unaware of the truth?”

Master has taught in the Fa:

“I often say that if all a person wants is the well-being of others and if this is without the slightest personal motivation or personal understanding, what he says will move the listener to tears. I have not only taught you Dafa, but have also left you my demeanor. While working, your tone of voice, your kindheartedness, and your reasoning can change a person’s heart, whereas commands never could! If others are not convinced deep down inside but only superficially comply, they will still conduct themselves according to their own will when no one is around to see them. ” “Clearheadedness,” Essentials for Further Advancement.

All of us have experienced being overwhelmed by Teacher's boundless compassion when we listened to his Fa lectures. Tears wash away the dirt in our minds, removing our human notions, and broadening our minds.

Measuring against Teacher's Fa lectures, I learned quite a lot from this lesson. After that, I always reminded myself to adjust my mentality and purify my tone in truth clarification and this has had a very good effect.

One day, I went to a shop to buy something and planned exchange for some cash of low face value to use for truth clarification. I have used cash for truth clarification ever since Teacher taught the Fa about the importance of truth clarification through the circulation of money. Luckily enough, I found a truth clarification bill in the change. I thought: “Isn't it a good chance for truth clarification?” Then I said out loud: “Wow, there is something written on it! 'Falun Dafa is good', and ' Heaven will destroy the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Quit the CCP to secure a nice future'!”

Hearing my words, the shop owner came to me. He took me for a security officer when he saw that I was in a uniform. He asked me: “Will anyone be arrested for this?” At the time I came up with a bunch of sharp words in my mind and almost burst into a dispute with him. But I changed my mind, thinking, “Apparently, he has been badly deceived by the CCP's lies.” Then I calmed down and started to send forth righteous thought to eliminate all evil elements behind him.

I said to him in a peaceful and solemn manner: “From my point of view, they should not be arrested. Instead, they should be rewarded.” He was very confused by these words. Then I said: “Falun Gong advocates and teaches the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Many people follow this principle and have become good persons with high morality. In addition, many people have recovered miraculously from severe diseases which made them suffer both physically and financially. It is quite natural for them to say wholeheartedly, “Falun Dafa is good.” The evil CCP, rooted in deception, wickedness and violence, has suppressed and persecuted these innocent people continuously. Justice does not allow the persecution of righteous belief. Nowadays, the end of the evil CCP is drawing near as more than 10 million people have announced their withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. People from all levels of society are quitting the CCP to save themselves. There are high governmental officials, army men, political and legal personnel like policemen, national security officers, 610 officials and prison guards who have come to know the truth about Falun Gong. That is the reason for the wide circulation of bills with the words “Heaven will destroy the CCP, Quit the CCP to secure a good future” and the signatures of those who quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They are genuinely saving people. It is really a great blessing to you when you receive these truth-clarification bills or other truth materials.”

Hearing this, the shop owner solved his confusion and started to understand. He said: “My shop is big and is located at a good place. I have many customers and constantly receive truth materials of all kinds, but I threw many of them away.” I said: “A booming business is what you as a businessman want, and happiness and peace are what your family members want. Do not throw them away any more from now on.” He said: “I think you are talking about something that really makes sense. You are doing this for my good. I genuinely trust you. When I receive truth materials next time I will ask my employees to pack them with the sold goods so that I can compensate something for my wrongdoings in the past.” I said: “In that way you will accumulate much virtue. By the way, have you ever joined in the CCP ” “I was a CCP member when I was in the army.” “Then let me give you an alias to your surname and announce for you that you quit the CCP. I sincerely wish you happiness and peace.” “That will be fine. Thank you!”

Through this experience of truth clarification, I deeply understood what Teacher has taught:

I also came to understand that in order to increase the righteous thoughts of the people to whom we clarify the truth, we should pay attention to our kindness and tone, which are manifestations of our compassion. In addition, we should try to fully clarify the truth about Dafa at different levels in accordance with the different kinds of people that we meet. Only through this way can we do well in truth clarification.
