I am not a Falun Gong practitioner but my wife, Liu Xiaolian, is. On March 21, 2007, when she was visiting her friend's house, she was illegally arrested by the police. Around 11 p.m. that night, Li Ning from the Xialu Police Station in Huangshi City, Hubei Province, came to my home with a gang of officers to confiscate my personal property. They carried off a computer and some other items. Not until after they had left did I find that they had also stolen two thousand yuan I had set aside for my family's living expenses.
My wife is now imprisoned in the Brainwashing Center of the Tangxunhu Laws and Institutions Education Class in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. According to practitioners who have been held there, any practitioner who refuses to be "transformed" will be deprived of sleep 24 hours a day for many days in a row, deprived of food and drinking water, and refused use of the toilet.
Because of everything I mentioned above, I went to the brainwashing center to talk to the person in charge. I asked him: "What is the Laws and Institutions Education Class? Do you understand the laws?" I went on to say, "According to articles 35 though 41 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, what my family was doing was not against the Constitution at all. All the practitioners are good people. I want to disclose to the whole world how the Brainwashing Center of the Tangxunhu Laws and Institutions Class in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, has persecuted innocent Falun Gong practitioners. Before my wife practiced Falun Gong she was quite ill, but after she began practicing all of her illnesses went away and she became very healthy. There are people in over 80 countries practicing Falun Gong. I never heard of any cases of suicide or self-immolation in those countries. I have only heard these reports from China. Whoever understands Falun Gong knows that those are ridiculous lies. Those old men and women are just clarifying the truth and telling people that Falun Dafa is good and that Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Tolerance are good. Falun Gong is nothing like the lies the CCP puts forth. Saddam Hussein has been hung, and Jiang Zemin will be next."
A couple of days ago I clarified the truth for about one hour to people in the office of the City Political and Legislative Affairs Committee and the 610 Office. I told them everything I know about what is happening in China and other countries and about Falun Gong and the big wave of quitting the CCP. At last they said that they had no choice and were only following orders.
My wife and son have suffered through repeated persecution over the last seven years. We have had tens of thousands of yuan extorted from us and several times our computers have been confiscated.
On some occasions, both my wife and son were imprisoned at the same time. I have often had to travel to different provinces or cities to clarify the facts to the authorities to rescue my wife and my son. I usually ask those authorities who are in high positions how Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Tolerance could be wrong. I tell them that if everyone would strive to be a good person by following the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Tolerance then our whole society would be good.
Finally, I would like to say something to those whose relatives have been persecuted for practicing Falun Gong: When our family members are illegally arrested we should be fearless in demanding that the authorities release them, because they have not committed any crime. It is those thieving, abusive policemen who are the real criminals.
