Clarifying the Facts to Customs Officers in Hong Kong

July 6, 2007 |   By a practitioner from Macao

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Macao. During Hong Kong's 10th anniversary of being returned as a special administrative region under Chinese dominion, and when Hu Jintao visited Hong Kong, I went to there to call for the end to the persecution of Falun Gong and to attend the July 1st parade protesting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) control.

I took a ship on the morning of June 28. The trip lasted an hour. I continuously sent forth righteous thoughts and recited the Fa. I arrived in Hong Kong at around 12:30 p.m. At the customs office, I handed in all my documents and was escorted to a waiting hall. I continued to send forth righteous thoughts. Then I was called to an office, and a customs officer started to question me. First he asked me some unrelated questions such as my family background. I told him that those things were unrelated to my visit and was wasting my time. I asked him if he could tell me his Chinese name. He said no problem, and that he would write it down for me later. I then asked him why I was being denied entry. He said that he was not finished questioning me yet. I replied that he should answer me first, because everything seemed related to this issue. But he continued to ask me more unrelated questions and then left without saying anything else.

I waited for a while and when nothing happened, I thought to myself that he hadn't answered my question yet. I hadn't said what I wanted to say and I should not just wait here like this. Although I have gone through customs many times, I have never had a chance to clarify the facts. This seemed like a dead end. I thought, "Today I'm here and I should not lose this opportunity to clarify the facts." So I asked the guard where the officer who had just questioned me had gone and that I had something to tell him. I asked him if he could help get him to come back, and thanked him. The guard told me that this officer had gone to his superiors to make a report. He told me that he would go and look for him and tell him that I wanted to talk to him.

This officer returned and I asked him for his Chinese name after he sat down. He wrote it down for me. I then asked him why I was not allowed to enter Hong Kong today. He answered that it was a decision made by higher officials. I began to clarify the facts. Two officers were in the room with me, and two policemen stood at the door. I told them, "I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Macao. It is the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return, and Hu Jintao is visiting Hong Kong. I would like to have a voice as a Falun Gong practitioner and attend some Falun Gong activities." I also introduced Falun Gong to them and told them that I used to have poor health and had tried many types of qigong but without any obvious results. Soon after I started practicing Falun Gong, however, all of my illnesses disappeared. The officer was surprised and asked, "All of your illnesses are gone? How do you practice? Is it qigong?" I replied, "They are all gone, even my kidney disease and gallstones. Falun Gong is a high level qigong. We cultivate Zhen, Shan, Ren. In addition to the exercises, we also cultivate our xinxing. We do not do bad things, such as lying or gambling, and are good people. There are many people in Hong Kong who practice Falun Gong as well. There are millions of people in mainland China who practice Falun Gong. The National People's Congress Chairman, Qiao Shi, conducted an investigation with tens of thousands of practitioners and came to a positive conclusion. But Jiang Zemin insisted on persecuting Falun Gong due to his jealousy, and he has been sued in many countries for his crimes. The CCP even removes organs from living practitioners." They were shocked when they heard all of this.

I continued, "A former Canadian MP and a human rights lawyer have formed an independent investigation group and their reports have concluded that the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners is actually taking place. The international Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong was established afterwards. Among its members are those from the national assembly, legislative council congressmen, non-government officials, lawyers, doctors--more than 300 people. The organization sent an open letter to Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao, asking them to stop the persecution of Falun Gong immediately and for permission to enter China to investigate this matter." They interrupted me and asked, "How is that going?" I said, "The CCP refused to issue an entrance visa to those who requested entrance to conduct an investigation." I added, "In this open letter, it is mentioned that the Olympics is a symbol of peace and should be an event that respects human rights. It should not take place in Beijing where inhuman crimes are taking place." Just then, the officer was called out to attend to other people and left. From the expression on his face, I could see that he had wanted to hear more.

After he left, the two guards who had been outside the door came in. I continued to clarify the facts to them and also told them, "Hong Kong is a society controlled by law. I have legal documents and I just came to Hong Kong not long ago. I have not done anything against any law in Hong Kong. Why am I not allowed entry into Hong Kong today? Five years ago when Jiang Zemin came to Hong Kong, it was the first time I was kept from entering Hong Kong. Hong Kong is not respecting human rights, and it is not good for Hong Kong's image."

Something happened outside, so the guards went out and I was left alone. I listened to Teacher's lectures. Then I thought that I should not just stay there. I remembered that they said the restroom was far away, so I asked to use the restroom. On the way there, I kept clarifying the facts to the two guards who followed me. I told them that heaven will destroy the CCP and that there are already more than 23 million people who have withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. "The CCP won't last much longer. One should take the right position and understand that Falun Gong is righteous. History will show us everything."

Later, the head officer brought a piece of paper that denied my entry to Hong Kong. He said that his superiors had told him I couldn't enter and he asked me to sign it. I said this was a violation of human rights and I wouldn't sign it. I had to stay for two and half hours in the customs office and could not enter Hong Kong. When I left, the head officer and the two guards shook my hand and waved to me with apologizing smiles on their faces. I hope what I said to them will help them understand the truth better.
