Please Help Rescue My Older Sister Cui Shengyu

Aug. 14, 2007 |   By Cui's Sister

(Clearwisdom.net) I used to have a big happy family. My parents were kind people, and my older sister inherited many of their good qualities. She was the oldest, had helped take care of her younger siblings, and she also shouldered a lot of the household responsibilities. Her health hadn't been good for a long time, but after she took up the practice of Falun Gong, the problems disappeared and we no longer worried about her health. She also became even kinder. My sister often shared with us the positive changes and benefits she had experienced after beginning Falun Gong practice, and we all felt the wonderfulness of the practice.

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party and its former General Secretary Jiang Zemin started the persecution of Falun Gong. Since then, many Falun Gong practitioners have been injured and killed. Peace and happiness left our family. My sister was persecuted simply for her belief in Falun Gong. My whole family was terrified, and has been traumatized by the atrocity ever since.

My sister did not give up the practice, and she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested there and sent back home. Soon afterwards, she was laid off and put into the detention center in Jiamusi City for six months. Everyone in my family suffered great pain during the time when my sister was detained. My father's hair turned gray, and my mother cried so much that she drained all of her tears. We went out every day to seek help in hopes of bringing my sister home, but to no avail. We later learned that my sister did not put up with the humiliation in the detention center, and went on hunger strike to protest the inhumane treatment. After six months, my sister suffered a great deal and she was on her last breath when she was released. When she got out of the detention center, she was unrecognizable, and her weight had dropped nearly in half. Her eyes were sunken, her cheeks caved in and her legs were so feeble that she couldn't stand or walk. I hardly recognized her as my sister.

For the last few years, those bad people never stopped persecuting her. One time during her pregnancy, they abruptly arrested her on the street with no justification. They illegally arrested her again during the period when she was breastfeeding her daughter. They rampantly beat and tortured her, and she was forced to live a homeless life to avoid being continually persecuted. She couldn't come home to reunite with her family even at times when everyone in other households was celebrating during the festivals.

Even though my sister was forced to lead a homeless life, hiding here and there, the bad people still persecuted her. They followed and monitored her wherever she went. On May 19, 2007, she was again illegally arrested by the police from the Security Bureau at Jiamusi, and placed in the Jiamusi Detention Center. It's now been more than two months since she was arrested. After my mother heard the news, she fell sick again with recurring heart disease and was hospitalized many times.

A few days ago, through the help of some kindhearted people, I was finally able to see my sister, whom I had been thinking of day and night, in the detention center. When I saw a thin and pallid face, and a feeble body wearing prisoner clothes, who could barely walk, I couldn't hold back my tears and cried bitterly. I feel so much love and respect for my sister. I resent this society. It turns upside down good and evil, and right and wrong.

I call on all kindhearted people in the world, "Please rescue my sister!" My mother is currently in the hospital. She is in a critical condition and suffering from a serious heart problem. My sister's daughter also needs someone to take care of her. My sister is detained in the Jiamusi City Detention Center and she has been on a hunger strike for three weeks now.

Please rescue my sister!
