Police Arrest More than Thirty Practitioners in Dalian City Before the World Economic Forum

Aug. 21, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) The World Economic Forum, also called the Davos Forum, is going to hold its Inaugural Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2007 from September 6 to 8 in Dalian City. Just a few weeks before the conference, the Chinese government stepped up its suppression of Falun Gong in Dalian City.

On August 14, 2007, the police simultaneously arrested around 36 Falun Dafa practitioners. Among them, nearly twenty were arrested in one practitioner's rental house. The Xincheng Accounting Firm in Dalian City was ransacked and ordered to cease operations. Many practitioners working there were arrested.

At around 2 p.m. on August 14, 2007, more than a dozen agents from the State Security Division and 610 Office stormed into the Xincheng Accounting Firm, restricted the employees' freedom of activities, interfered with normal business operations, and banned the firm from conducting any further business. Mr. Yin Libin and others, including Ms. Wang Chunyan, her two older sisters, and her daughter, were among the practitioners arrested. Their homes have been broken into and ransacked one by one.
