1. [Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Xu Ming Inhumanly Tortured
Mr. Xu Ming, a practitioner from the Taierzhuang area in Shandong Province, was taken into custody by the police on May 16, 2007. He has been unlawfully held at the Pizhou Detention Center for over three months, where he has been on a hunger strike. Officers from the Pizhou City Police Department and guards at the detention center have inhumanly tortured him. The guards injected a liquid into his intestines to torture him.
2. [Shanghai] Ms. Jin Huizhen and Other Practitioners Remain in Custody
Practitioner Ms. Jin Huizhen, 54, was turned in while she was clarifying the truth in the Gongkang No. 4 Residential Community in the Zhabei District of Shanghai on the evening of July 21. Security guards of the property management office forcibly took her to the Sanquan Police Station. Ms. Jin is currently being held at the Zhabei District Detention Center under a 30-day detention.
Other practitioners taken into custody in recent days include Ms. Feng Rongxia, Mr. Wang Bingke, Ms. Zhang Lanying, Ms. Cai Leiyun and her daughter Ms. Chen Yaojin, and Ms. Li Gendi.

3. [Liaoning Province] Recent Situation of Mr. Zhang Guoyu and Mr. Yu Chanshun in Dalian Forced Labor Camp
Officials at the Dalian Forced Labor Camp tried to transfer practitioner Mr. Yu Changshun to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Yu had become handicapped due to extensive abuse and could not take care of himself. He was denied admission at the Benxi Forced Labor Camp. Officials at the Dalian Forced Labor Camp held him at a satellite facility in the Daheishi area in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Several guards are monitoring him around the clock. Recently, the officials at the labor camp have been planning to send both Mr. Yu and Mr. Zhang Guoyu to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp again.
4. [Qi County, Henan Province] Six Practitioners Taken into Custody
On the evening of August 12, 2007, officers from the Xingkou Town Police Station and the Kaifeng City State Security Division searched practitioner Mr. Liu Jibin's home in Xingkou Town and took him away. Officers from the State Security Section of the Qi County Police Department and those from the Shawo Police Station forcibly took into custody practitioners Mr. Zhang Shufan, Mr. Zhang Mingtang, Mr. Zhang Mingtong, and Mr. Yang Zhanying in Qi County. At the same time, officers from the Gaoyang Town Police Station took into custody a practitioner in Gaoyang Town. The five practitioners have been held at the Qi County Detention Center.

On August 13, 2007, the police took into custody Ms. Yang Fenglian, a practitioner from Handan City who is a teacher at the Hebei Engineering University. Her home was searched. Her computer was confiscated.

Ms. Yang, about 55 years old, a practitioner from the urban area of Jiaxing City, was taken into custody by the police at the end of July. Other practitioners have been placed under surveillance.
8. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Gong Ruimin Taken into Custody
At around 2:00 p.m. on August 11, 2007, Ms. Gong Ruimin from Matou Village in Matou Town, Zhuozhou City was distributing truth-clarifying materials in the Xiangyang Village area. Local police took her into custody after someone turned her in.
On the morning of August 14, 2007, Yang Yugang (male) of the Zhuozhou City State Security Division and other officers broke into practitioner Ms. Mu Yimin's home in Xiaowu Village, Zhuozhou City Development Zone. The police confiscated Falun Dafa materials and books and took Ms. Mu into custody.
Ms. Gong Ruimin, Ms. Mu Yimin, and another practitioner Mr. Liu Wen are being held at the Zhuozhou City Detention Center.

Mr. Wei Kedong, a practitioner from Tonghua City, Jilin Province, works as a salesman in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Early June 2007, he was taken into custody with other local practitioners in Changzhou City.

12. [Heilongjiang Province] Family Members Demand Authorities at Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison Stop Holding Ms. Zeng Fenglian in a "Small Cell"
On the morning of August 13, 2007, Ms. Zeng Fenglian's family members went to visit her at the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison. After three hours of insistence, they finally met with Ms. Zeng. They demanded that the authorities stop holding Ms. Zeng in a Small Cell [1]. The prison officials agreed.
13. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Ms. Zhang Chengying and Ms. Zhuang Shizhen Taken into Custody
At around noon on August 14, 2007, seven or eight officers, led by the director of the Miyi Police Station in Sichuan Province, broke into the homes of Ms. Zhang Chengying and Ms. Zhuang Shizhen. The police took the practitioners away and subsequently searched their homes. Some Falun Dafa materials were confiscated.

Ms. Guo Chenrong and Tian Ying (gender unknown) are from Yangzhuang Village in Yongnian County. On the night of August 12, 2007, they went to Zhaozhuang Village to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Officers from the Xinzhuangbao Police Station took them into custody. The two practitioners were later transferred to the county's detention center.

On August 8, 2007, Ms. Yang Xiufen from Qinghe Township in Tonghe County, was taken to the Tonghe Detention Center by officers from the Tonghe County 610 Office, the State Security Division, and the Qinghe Police Station. All of the practitioners in Qinghe Township are being searched and interrogated.
Ms. Ma Jiying, a practitioner who was taken into custody on July 22, is being held at the Fangzheng County Detention Center.

16. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Song Yuliang Taken into Custody
At around 1:00 p.m. on August 11, 2007, seven or eight police officers led by Liu Xingang (male), an officer at the Wujing Town Police Station in Linqu County, broke into Mr. Song Yuliang's home in Xidahe Village. The officers unlawfully took Mr. Song away and searched his home.
17. [Beijing] Elderly Mr. Fan Darun Held in Custody for Over Three Months Despite His Wife's Grave Condition
At the end of April 2007, the police searched the home of practitioner Mr. Fan Darun, a retired engineer who lives in the Haidian District of Beijing. He was taken into custody and held at a detention center in Nangedou Village, Beijing, which is directly affiliated with the Beijing Police Department. His family has been denied visitation rights.
Ms. Fan's wife has had two operations for cancer. She is in critical condition and needs immediate care. The detention center officials have rejected the repeated requests from Mr. Fan Darun's family for his release.
18. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Dan's Situation in Heilongjiang Provincial Prison Raises Concern
Ms. Liu Dan, a practitioner from Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, has been unlawfully held at the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison. Ms. Liu has become emaciated due to cruel persecution. She is very weak and often loses consciousness. The prison authorities have not only refused to release her, they have appointed inmates (one of whom has the last name Xu) to monitor and torture Ms. Liu.
Ms. Liu Dan, 31, graduated from Jiamusi University. On March 1, 2006, she was taken to the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison. She has been on a hunger strike for months protesting the abuse.
Since July 20, 2007, the prison authorities have prohibited practitioners from meeting with their families. They also restrict items that are sent to practitioners from their families.
19. [Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yanqing on a Hunger Strike in Hebei Province No. 1 Prison
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yanqing was held at the No. 13 Ward in the Hebei Province No. 1 Prison. Because of her firm belief, the prison authorities transferred her to the No. 4 Ward. She has been placed under the supervision of half a dozen people. Ms. Zhang has been on a hunger strike since August 2.

On the afternoon of August 14, 2007, Ms. Fu Jinhua from Jing County in Hebei Province went to the Baitian'e Computer Plaza to repair a photocopier in Dezhou City, Shandong Province. Plainclothes special agents took her into custody. Ms. Fu is being unlawfully held in Dezhou Detention Center in Shandong Province.
21. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Ma Xingyong, His Wife, and Other Practitioners Remain in Custody
Ms. Huang Luanzhen from Shantou City in Guangdong Province returned home in early August 2007. Mr. Ma Xingyong, his wife Ms. Li Yuxiang, and other practitioners remain in custody at a brainwashing center.
In November 2006, Ms. Li Yuxiang was illegally arrested, and she was later released. Earlier this year, she was taken to the Shantou Legal Center (a brainwashing center) by members of the Chaoyang District 610 Office and officials at the Xishuang Residential Committee, which is affiliated with the Wenguang Neighborhood Administration Office in Chaoyang District.

25. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ten Practitioners, Including Ms. Kang Lanling, Taken into Custody or Fined
Of the ten practitioners taken into custody by the state security police in Linqing City and officers at the Songlin Town Police Station, Ms. Kang Lanling, Ms. Xu Lianrong, and Mr. Gao Zhenxiang have been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor. The other seven practitioners have been forced to pay fines ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 yuan.
26. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on the Unlawful Arrest of Mr. Wang Yan
The day Mr. Wang Yan was taken away, Song Zhiyun (male), a local security official, had been riding his bicycle by Mr. Wang's home numerous times to check who was at home and who was not. At around 9:00 p.m. the officers arrested Mr. Wang Yan and searched his home. Two police officers were left staked out at his home that night to catch Mr. Wang's younger brother.
The next day, three policemen were staked out around his home. Mr. Wang's younger brother and his wife (who is eight months pregnant) had to leave town, and they had no place to stay. Mr. Wang's father, who is in his sixties, was left alone at home. The over-a-dozen acres of farmland their family owns has been left unattended.

28. [Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Lanyi Persecuted in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Zhao Lanyi, a practitioner in his fifties, was unlawfully arrested at his home by the Yishui County 610 Office and the county police department on June 16, 2007. Two days later, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp immediately.
In the labor camp, Mr. Zhao went on a hunger strike protesting the unlawful persecution. Labor camp guards and inmates assigned to abuse him didn't let him sleep, wash, or use the restroom. Mr. Zhao has been diagnosed with diabetes. He is in a very weak condition.
There are over 300 practitioners held in Divisions No. 7 and No. 8 at Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. The elderly practitioners are in their sixties and seventies.

29. [Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Cuifen Unlawfully Taken to Forced Labor Camp; Her Helpless Elderly Mother-in-Law Commits Suicide
Ms. Lin Cuifen, in her fifties, is a practitioner from the Daliujia area in Xixia City, Shandong Province. On the evening of April 22, 2007, the local police arrested her. She was later sentenced to one year of forced labor by the Xixia City 610 Office. Her elderly mother-in-law had been primarily relying her care. After Ms. Lin was taken to the labor camp, her mother-in-law was left unattended and saddened. She was depressed and eventually committed suicide by hanging herself.
30. [Miyi City, Sichuan Province] Numerous Practitioners Taken into Custody; Their Homes Unlawfully Searched
At around 11:00 a.m. on August 14, 2007, practitioners Ms. Zhuang Shizhen and Ms. Zhang Chengyin from Miyi County were taken into custody by the police. Ms. Zhang's son is not a practitioner, but the police viciously beat him and took him into custody simply because he spoke out for Falun Dafa. The police also searched the homes of practitioners Ms. Zeng Shihua, Ms. Zhang Jiarong, Ms. Yang Xingmei, and Ms. Yu Lan.

On the morning of August 9, 2007, Zhao Chengkui (male), an officer from the Dalucun Town Police Station in Ningjin County in the Xingtai area, Hebei Province, led others to take Mr. Wu Shuansuo into custody in the Changjiazuang area. Mr. Wu's whereabouts remain unknown.

Mr. Zhao Shoujin is a practitioner from Shibajiazi Township in Changtu County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province. At around 9:00 a.m. on August 15, 2007, officers from the Changtu County Political Security Section and the local police station unlawfully searched his home. The police confiscated a personal computer and other Falun Dafa materials. Mr. Zhao Shoujin managed to escape with righteous thoughts in mind.

On September 1, 2006, two production sites for Falun Gong materials in Xi'an City were sabotaged. Six practitioners were arrested. Three female practitioners eventually got out. Three male practitioners were sentenced to prison in the past few days after nearly one year of unlawful custody. Mr. Xie Xinhao and Mr. Pang Ning each have been sentenced to seven years in prison. Mr. Gao Mantang was sentenced to eight years.

37. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Recent Situation of Practitioner Mr. Jin Zezhu in a Detention Center
Recently, according to someone just released from a detention center in the Yanbian area, Mr. Jin Zezhu, a practitioner from Yanji City, insisted on practicing Falun Gong exercises in the cell. The detention center guards punished all inmates in the cell by forcing them to sit on hard boards. They do this to instigate the inmates to direct their anger against Mr. Jin. Several inmates indeed have viciously beaten Mr. Jin. Mr. Jin's head is swollen in several spots, and his body was injured in numerous places. In addition, Mr. Jin suffered from skin problems besides having swollen areas all over his body.
It has been learned that an elderly female practitioner was unlawfully detained with Mr. Jin.

Ms. Jiang Lanying from Nanchang City was released on July 12, 2007. Before that, officers from the Pengjiaqiao Police Station searched her home. The first few days after July 12, Hu Yun (gender unknown) and other officers from the Pengjiaqiao Police Station placed Ms. Jiang's home under surveillance around the clock. The officers sought to prevent Ms. Jiang and her mother from contacting anyone outside. Recently, officials from the Lijiazhuang Residential Committee dispatched people to replace the officers staked out at her home. Anyone who enters the stairway needs be registered. A resident on the third floor has been recruited to help monitor Ms. Jiang Lanying.
Ms. Jiang Lanying had been unlawfully held for nearly eight years. She stayed on a hunger strike for almost five years. She has suffered cruel torture beyond description. She cannot walk on one of her feet at the present.
41. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Lei Shengping Severely Ill As a Result of Persecution Received
Ms. Lei Shengping, a practitioner from Chibi City in Hubei Province, was taken to the Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp at No. 1 Mahute in the Hongshan District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, in late July. She was held in Division No. 2. She has developed severe symptoms of illness. Her neck has swollen up. The labor camp authorities have asked her family to send money.

His family asked to meet with him, but the authorities demanded 2,000 yuan before any visit could be arranged.

45. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Chang'an Police Station Harasses Practitioners and Their Families
At around 9:30 a.m. on August 13, 2007, seven or eight officers from the Chang'an Police Station, affiliated with the Xiangyang Police Department in Jiamusi City, were sent to pound on the doors of practitioners' homes in their jurisdiction. The officers claimed to be checking residential statuses in order to harass practitioners and their families. Recently, officers and associate officers in various police stations across Jiamusi City and community officials have resorted to all sorts of excuses to take video footage and pictures, demand passport-size photos, and constantly harass practitioners in their homes.

Recently, Ms. Hu Yanmei, a practitioner from Zhangjiakou City, was unlawfully sentenced to two years in prison. Practitioner Ms. Li Yuechun has been sentenced to a two-year term to be enforced outside the prison. Practitioner Ms. Fu Xiuduo was taken away by officers from the Hongqilou Police Station. Her whereabouts are unknown.
47. [Beijing] Practitioner Ms. Wu Zhenye Taken into Custody
On July 17, 2007, officers from the state security division of Yanqing Police Department took Ms. Wu Zhenye into custody in the Balidian area. On August 13, 2007, Ms. An Shufen and another practitioner with the last name Lin (gender unknown), both from the Xuanhua area in Zhangjiakou City, went to clarify the truth in the streets. Plainclothes officers forcibly took them to the Shisanli Detention Center. Practitioner Lin has managed to get out. Ms. An remains in custody.

[1] Small Cell-The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night the rats run around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
