(Clearwisdom.net) When I heard about the earthquake a few days ago, I thought about my teacher, and called him, after finding his phone number through my contacts. He was surprised to hear from me. I asked him how things were, and he told me that when the earthquake hit, he thought "Falun Dafa Hao," (Falun Dafa is good) and knew that he would be all right. "You see, I am fine." he said.

During the past few days, news has come from everywhere about the Sichuan Earthquake, which is a disaster much worse than the snowstorm that occurred earlier this year. How does one help oneself when caught in a disaster? This maybe something that everybody thinks about. How can we help ourselves, our family and others?

I would like to tell you a story, and hopefully, kind-hearted people will be inspired by it.

In 2000, I met this teacher and clarified the truth to him. He said that he believed that the persecution was wrong. He also said that the so-called Buddhists and Taoists who criticized Falun Gong would be deserted by their masters because they were attacking cultivators. Later, one of his friends ridiculed Falun Dafa and practitioners during a conversation. My teacher stopped him and said, "Don't judge something that you don't really know about. It's not good for you." That was in 2001 when the persecution was most severe.

This teacher quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliations as soon as the movement began, and asked me to use his real name. One day during class, he looked at me seriously and said "You must stick to your faith. I had a dream last night... All that Falun Gong says is true." I was surprised that he would say something like that. He was very serious and I knew that he must have seen something in his dream. I thanked him and said "I will."

He later moved out of town and we lost contact, until I found out that he was in Sichuan Province.

I was very pleased. He did remember to do what I asked him to do - remember that Falun Dafa is good and use it to protect himself. He said that it shook violently where he lived. The earthquake measured almost 8 on the Richter scale. Everyone around him was frightened, and some jumped out of their apartments and were injured. I told him to take care of himself, and he said he would be fine because he knows that "Falun Dafa is good."

As a Falun Gong practitioner, I would like to appeal to those who have suffered and are continuing to suffer, along with those who have not experienced such disasters, to remember that Falun Dafa is good --it will save your life.
