(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 36 cities and counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 24 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 82 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Haicheng, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fu Xiuyan Interrogated by Torture
Ms. Fu Xiuyan is now being held in a detention center after police found a copy of "Minghui Weekly" at her home. The police also interrogated her by torture with electric batons.
2. [Suining, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Hejiang, Ms. Yang Shunxiu, and Ms. Chen Fuqiong Arrested on July 5, 2008
3. [Meizhou, Guangdong Province] Mr. Ye Wenxin and Mr. Fan Huihai Sentenced to Forced Labor
On May 6, 2008, Mei County Police arrested practitioners Ye Winxin and Fan Huihai in Chengjiang, Meizhou. Ye Winxin was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor and Fan Huihai one year. Another practitioner, Zhu Xiansheng, is still under detention and persecution at Fuda Detention Center.
4. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wu Fugui and Mr. Li Liangping Arrested
On May 10, 2008, police officers from Zhouling Police Station arrested practitioner Wu Fugui in Zhouling Town, Jiujiang City. Wu Fugui currently is detained in Jiujiang Majialong Labor Camp. Meanwhile, practitioner Li Liangping in Haihui Town was also arrested but was later released after being extorted out of 30,000 yuan.
5. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shi Fengxia Arrested
On July 2, 2008, police arrested Liaoyang practitioner Ms. Shi Fengxia while she was distributing truth clarification materials at Wayaozi Police Station. She is now illegally detained at Laiyang Detention Center. Her home was also ransacked.
6. [Yushu, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Fengjuan Arrested in Kunming, Yunnan Province on June 10 and Currently Detained at Yunnan Detention Center
7. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wu Qingzhu Detained in Hulan Prison and Severely Tortured
Practitioner Wu Qingzhu, age 50, is currently detained in Hulan Prison in Heilongjiang Province. Police and other inmates tortured him until he became unable to walk.
8. [Beijing City] Ms. Zhang Fang Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp for the Second Time
In 2003, Practitioner Ms. Zhang Fang from Chaoyang District, Beijing was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor. After returning home in 2005, she was arrested by police on April 30, 2008 and sentenced to 2 more years in a forced labor camp.
9. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Many Practitioners Arrested
On August 9, 2008, police of Weifang City used the Olympic Games as an excuse to step up the persecution, arresting many practitioners and ransacking their homes. Practitioners arrested in the latest wave of persecution include Yu Guifang, age 60 and her three-year-old daughter, Xiaohui, her mother-in-law, and her husband. Mr. Laochen was arrested by police and detained at the former 2nd Municipal Court of Weifang City. The homes of Cao Junping, age 50, Lao Zhai, Yang Wenying, and Ms. Cao Jinsu were illegally searched.
10. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Shen Jili and Ms. Li Xueling Arrested
At around 6:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, officials from the 610 Office of Weifang City, working together with the police of Ershilipu Police Station, used a master key to break into the home of a practitioner couple, Mr. Shen Jili and Ms. Li Xueling, and arrested them while ransacking their home. Police seized the couple's Dafa books. The couple is currently detained in Weifang Detention Center.
11. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wei Guoxuan and Two Others Arrested
On July 7, 2008, police arrested practitioners Mr. Wei Guoxuan, Mr. Wei Pingxuan, and another practitioner from Wei Town, Dingzhou City while they were distributing truth-clarification materials in Xingyi Town. The three practitioners are now detained in Chengbei Detention Center, Dingzhou City.
12. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Rongfen and Four Other Practitioners Arrested
On the evening of July 7, 2008, officials from the Shenze County Police Department, other police stations, and the village government arrested several practitioners and searched their homes in Shenze County. Currently, the known practitioners who have been arrested are Ms. Zhang Rongfen, Ms. He Qing, Mr. Zhang Jianyong, Ms. Zhang Liuying, and Ms. Zheng Xin. They are detained in Shenze County Detention Center
13. [Mian County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Fang Qingxiang Arrested
Around noon on July 8, 2008, Dafa practitioner Ms. Fang Qingxiang was arrested by officials from Wuhou Police Station and Domestic Security Division of Mian County. She is now detained and persecuted at the Detention Center of Mian County.

14. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Ruizhen Arrested
On July 7, 2008, Ms. Li Ruizhen, a Dafa practitioner in the community of Xi'an City Dongfeng Instrument Factory, was arrested at her home by police from Yanta Police Department. She was reported to the authorities while distributing truth-clarification materials to students passing by her own store. No further information regarding Li Ruizhen is available.

15. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Juan Hung up and Beaten in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Dafa practitioners Ms. Wu Juan and Ms. Sun Zhongqin from Fengcheng were reported to the police when they clarified the truth in Kuandian County on July 28, 2007. They were sentenced to one year in Masanjia Labor Camp. In February 2008, because Ms. Wu Juan refused to be "transformed", she was beaten by police of Group 3 of the Women's Section of the Labor Camp. She was later hung up for two days. As a result, one of her arms was paralyzed.

16. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Arrest Several Practitioners and Ransack Their Homes in Xing'an District
In the afternoon on July 6, 2008, police officers from the Xing'an Police Department broke into the homes of Yin Yuehong, age 60, Ms. Wang Qinghua, age 49, Ms. Fu Yafang, age 50, Ms. Liu Guiqin, age 60, and others. Police arrested the practitioners and searched their homes. The practitioners are detained in the No. 2 Detention Center.
17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Police from Wanli Police Station Arrested Practitioner Li Renlong on July 10, 2008
18. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Entao Arrested
On June 19, 2008, Mr. Yu Entao, age 40, was arrested by police from General Police Station in Fushun City. He is now detained in Fushun City Detention Center.

20. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Ms. Zhang Yafen and Mr. Pang Yajie Arrested
On the afternoon of July 5, 2008, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Yafen from Heishan County was reported to the police while she was clarifying the truth in Sheshizi Village, Banlamen Town. She, along with practitioner Pang Yajie, were then arrested and detained in Heishan County Detention Center.

The police seized their Dafa books and materials. The two practitioners are currently detained in Erjing Police Station, Xinchengzi District.
24. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xin Arrested
On the evening of July 7, 2008, Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Xin from Lingyuan City was arrested by police on patrol when he clarified the truth in the West District of the community of the Lingyuan Iron and Steel Company. He is still detained.
25. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Min's Daughter Ya Hui Sentenced to One Year of Imprisonment in July 2008
26. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Gao Zhen Arrested
On the afternoon of June 26, 2008, Mr. Gao Zhen, age 50, from Junzi Village, Qian'an County, was arrested by police, who broke into his home. Gao Zhen is now detained in Qian'an County Detention Center.
27. [Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Haiying Arrested
At 8:00 p.m. on July 10, 2008, police from Changchun Chengxi Police Station arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Haiying. They searched her home and seized Dafa books and materials. A seven-year-old child was left at home.
28. [Renqiu, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Fengting Arrested
On July 10, 2008, Ms. Wang Fengting from Xiwangtuan Village, Renqiu was reported to the police when she clarified the truth at Pangxu Village. Her home was also illegally searched. Ms. Wang Fengting is now detained in Renqiu Detention Center. Her elderly mother, age 80, was left alone at home.

30. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Lu Xinliang Arrested from Home
At around 6:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, Weifang city police arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Xinliang in his apartment.
31. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Xiuqiang and Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, employee of People's Bank in Boxing County, was arrested by Boxing County police in the morning of June 5, 2008 while she was at work. She was then detained in Boxing County Detention Center.
32. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
At around 6:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, police of Hanting District arrested Dafa practitioners on Kaiyuan Street, including Ms. Xu Meifang, age 53, Mr. Zhang Jinguo, age 56, and Mr. Zhang Shanyu, age 52. The police also seized all of their Dafa books and materials.
33.[Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ronghua from Weifang 3rd Electric Company Arrested
Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Ronghua, employee of Weifang 3rd Electric Company, was arrested at home at 8:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008. No further news regarding Ms. Wang is available.
34. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shuying and Mr. Liu Shuwen Arrested
On May 2, 2008, Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Shuying from Xiaolujia Village was arrested by officials from the 610 Office in Xiaodian Town, Zhaoyuan City. She was sent to a brainwashing center.
35. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Xikun Arrested
At 4:00 p.m. on July 9, 2008, police officers from Chenguan Police Station in Gaoyang County, Baoding City informed the police of Du County to arrest Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Xikun. The officials of Du County 610 Office and the police department, conspiring with employees of the Electric Bureau, arrested Mr. Liu Xikun from his workplace.
36. [Penglai, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ye Arrested
Ms. Wang Ye, a Falun Gong practitioner from Gaolikuang, Xujiaji, Penglai, was arrested on July 1, 2008. She is now detained in a brainwashing center operated by the 610 Office.
37. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Liangtang Arrested and His Home Ransacked
Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Liangtang was arrested at his home at around 7:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008. His home was also illegally searched.
38. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Meijuan and Ms. Zhang Cuihua Arrested
At 6:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, officials from the Zhucheng 610 Office broke into the home of Ms. Wang Meijuan, arrested, her, and searched her home, seizing a tape recorder, a transformer, and other possessions. The police also arrested Ms. Zhang Cuihua from Yangjia Village. Both practitioners were sent to a detention center.
39. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Xiuyun Arrested
On May 28, 2005, Ms. Gao Xiuyun, age 56, from Gaoli Town, Hanting District, Weifang City, was arrested by Shuangyandian and Tonghanting police, who extorted 10,000 yuan from her and sent her to Jinan Women's Prison for 3 years of forced labor. The term expired on June 28, 2008.
On that day, Ms. Gao's family picked her up, but she was later arrested again and sent to a brainwashing center.
40. [Wuyi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhu Mengyun Arrested
On July 8, 2008, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Mengyun from Zhuzhuang Village, Wuyi County, Hengshui City was arrested at his home by the police from Wuyi County Police Department and the Village Police Station. They searched his home and took away his Dafa books.

On July 10, 2008, police officers ransacked Mr. Yang Guoguang's home. The couple had no choice but to leave their home to avoid being targeted for arrest.
43. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Prison Officials Reject Family Members' Visit to Mr. Qu Shoucheng After He Was Hospitalized due to Torture
Mr. Qu Shoucheng, a Dafa practitioner from Longhua County, was hospitalized on July 9, 2008 due to injuries he received while being tortured. His father and his son went to Baoding Prison to visit him but were turned away by prison officials, who told them to wait until the Olympic Games were over.
44. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Wei, Mr. Li Gang, and Others Arrested
At 8:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, police arrested Dafa practitioners Mr. Yu Wei, his wife, Mr. Li Gang and his wife, Ms. Yu Guifang's daughter, Mr. Tan Foli, Ms. Liu Bing, and others.
45. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Chengshun Becomes Homeless to Avoid Further Persecution

Practitioner Liang Ruisheng, age 40, from Lihaozi Village, Qianjiaying Town was arrested by officials from Fengnan Domestic Security Division on May 30, 2008.
47. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ning Yongqian's Home Ransacked
At 9:00 p.m. on July 8, 2008, five police officers from Shijiazhuang City Police Department and Fangxing Police Station ransacked Ms. Ning Yongqian's home in the name of security for the Olympic Games.
48. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Dazhong Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
Mr. Liu Dazhong, a Dafa practitioner from Yichang, was reported to the police on May 13, 2008 for clarifying the truth. He was arrested and his home ransacked. He was sentenced to one year in Shayang Labor Camp by the police of Pinghu Police Department in Gezhouba, Yichang City.
49. [Manzhouli City, Inner Mongolia] Practitioner Xu Dongping Arrested by 610 Office Agents
Ms. Xu Dongping, a Falun Gong practitioner from Manzhouli City, was arrested by officials from the 610 Office and the Manzhouli City Police Department. Police ransacked his home and seized many articles. Ms. Xu Dongping is now illegally detained in Manzhouli City Detention Center.
50. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiong Lanying and Ms. Li Wanbi Arrested
On the morning of July 8, 2008, Ms. Xiong Lanying, age 65, and Ms. Li Wanbi, Dafa practitioners working at 7111 Factory of Space Industrial Department in Wenjiang District were arrested by Liucheng police while they were clarifying the truth at Wenjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Their homes were also illegally searched. Ms. Xiong and Ms. Li were later detained in Wenjiang District Detention Center.
51. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Feng Dijian Arrested
Dafa practitioner Mr. Feng Dijian was arrested by police when he was browsing the Internet at an Internet cafe on July 3, 2008. He was later sent to Sanshui Brainwashing Center.
52. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cong Wei Arrested on His Way to Beijing for a Job Interview
On July 10, 2008, Mr. Congwei, a Dafa practitioner from Dalian, was arrested on his way to Beijing for a job interview.
53. [Tianjin City] Mr. Luo Hualin Arrested
Mr. Luo Hualin was reported to police and arrested while he was distributing truth-clarification flyers. He is now illegally detained in Hedong Detention Center.
54. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Jiang Zhenbai and Ms. Wang Hongxia Arrested
At 9:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, Dafa practitioner Mr. Jiang Zhenbai, an officer of Shandong No.3 Prison, and his wife Ms. Wang Hongxia were arrested by Weifang city police, who also seized much of their possessions.
55. [Suzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Qingliang Arrested
On July 6, 2008, Mr. Liu Qingliang, a Dafa practitioner from Suzhou, was arrested by Yuyao city police and detained in Yuyao City Detention Center.
56. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Suying Arrested and Sent to Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center
On the morning of July 10, 2008, Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Suying was arrested and sent to Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center by Lubei police.
