(Clearwisdom.net) On August 4, 2008, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) Malaysia Branch representatives went to the Malaysian federal government administrative center--Putrajaya Prime Minister's Office and Foreign Affairs Ministry. They delivered the global "Million Signatures" petition to end the persecution of Falun Gong to the Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahamd Badawi and Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Rais Yatim. They conveyed the 1.35 million people's voices of concern to the government, hoping that the government take a stance against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong that has lasted for nine years.

CIPFG member lawyer Chen Yongjian and two other representatives announced to the media that the global "Million Signatures" petition has been submitted to the Malaysian Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister and the Malaysian Olympic Council

After that, on August 5, the CIPFG representatives delivered the "Million Signatures" petition to the president of the Malaysian Olympic Council, calling for the Olympic Council to pay attention to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.

In the statement delivered to related departments, it stated that 8715 people in Malaysia have signed the petition to call for an end to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Of these people, 7354 of them provided their contact information. In addition, 91 Malaysian signatories are social elite, from the political, legal, educational, medical, industrial and arts fields. The petition shows that the voices of concern over the persecution are from people from all walks of life.

Early this year, Hong Kong initiated the global "Million Signatures" petition campaign. 1,356,232 people from 33 countries in five continents responded and signed the petition in support of Falun Gong practitioners in China regaining their freedom and basic human rights.

CIPFG representatives also delivered the guide, entitled "Torture Outside the Olympic Village: A Guide to China's Labor Camps," to the above-mentioned departments to help them understand how the CCP has persecuted countless Falun Gong practitioners.

CIPFG Malaysian Branch representatives held a press conference on August 6 in front of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia. They told the media that the CIPFG representatives for Malaysia have delivered the "Million Signatures" petition to end the persecution of Falun Gong to the prime minister, foreign affairs minister and president of the Olympic Council of Malaysia.
