Seize the Opportunity to Clarify the Truth Instead of Worrying About the Olympics

Aug. 29, 2008 |   By an overseas Dafa practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) The Minghui/Clearwisdom website recently published many cultivation articles about the Olympics which talked about how to get rid of human notions after the opening ceremony. Those articles were very helpful for fellow practitioners to improve together, but there were only one or two articles that talked about clarifying the truth during the Olympics. I have not yet seen any reports from practitioners in China about using the Olympic Games as an opportunity to clarify the truth.

Today, when I studied the Fa, I read Master's "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference." Master said,

"It's not a big deal if you haven't done well. Just do things well next time and try to find out where the problem was. There's a prominent phenomenon in you folks' cultivation, which is, after you haven't done something well, you're only overwhelmed with regret, and you don't do it over. If you regret it too much then that's another attachment. Once you've done something wrong, seen where it was wrong, and recognized it, then do it well next time, do it over. If you trip and fall, and just keep lying there instead of getting up, (audience laughs) then that's no good."

Master's Fa made me realize that we should get rid of the attachment of being concerned about the Olympic Games. With the pretext of the Olympics, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted many Dafa practitioners. They were arrested, forced to sign a statement, put under house arrest, or illegally detained. If we could really do something to widely expose the persecution in detail, more people, like journalists covering the Olympics, would find out about the persecution.

The main body of Dafa practitioners is in China. There, the CCP has created a lot of so-called "sensitive days" or "sensitive periods," but that's because the CCP is afraid of practitioners' truth-clarification. The Olympics is such an example. We shouldn't regard this as a period where we lie low and adhere to the old forces' arrangements, but rather use this as another opportunity to clarify the truth. Of course, stepping forward to clarify the truth doesn't mean being reckless and paying no attention to safety. If we can truly do our truth-clarification with pure hearts and steadfastness, though, we are sure to succeed.
