CCP Officials in Baishan City Harass Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Name of "Protecting the Olympic Games"

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Baishan City, Jilin Province persecuted many Falun Gong practitioners in the name of "protecting the Olympic Games." Agencies involved in the persecution included the 610 Office, the Dongxing Police Department, the National Security Team of the Hongqi Police Department, the Qidaojiang Town Police Department, and the Datonggou Police Department. They harassed and arrested Falun Gong practitioners, claiming that it was "to protect the Olympic Games." They ransacked practitioners' homes, and even took away computers that practitioners' children used for studying. Some elderly people were also taken to the police stations and subjected to persecution.

The recent round of persecution was organized and led by CCP officials of Baishan City. The following are details of several arrests and instances of harassment.

On July 30, 2008, the Hongqi Police Department arrested Ms. Liu Kai and searched her home. The police took away a desktop computer that her child used for studying, and other property.

On July 30, 2008, team leader Chen of the Hongqi Police Department led Wang Ming and other policemen to arrest Mu Yihua and searched her home. They also took away two desktop computers and other items.

On July 30, the Qidaojiang Police Department arrested Ms. Wang Guirong and searched her home. The police took away Dafa books and other items.

Around August 1, 2008, the Qidaojiang Police Department arrested Mr. and Mrs. Yu, who live near Diaoshui Village.

On August 6, 2008, the Qidaojiang Police Department arrested Ms. Zhang Jin, Mr. Cui Guorong and members of their family.

On August 9, 2008, Gao Zeyi from the Dongxing Police Department and Wang Ximin from Guangming Community led people to Hunjiang Electric Company and forced Mr. Li Jingang to sign a document, saying that it was related to security for the Olympic Games. They claimed that they would "deal with" him if he did not sign the document and said they would detain him until after the Olympic Games. After Mr. Li signed the document, he was very upset and could not work normally.

Eight other practitioners were harassed between July 30 and August 9, 2008.
