Investigation into Organ Harvesting: Kidney Transplant Hospitals Actively Recruiting Customers in Southeast Asia, and Other Leads

Sept. 21, 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) The horrifying news of organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners and the immediate cremation of their bodies to destroy evidence was first reported on March 4, 2006. The Falun Dafa Association and Minghui website (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom) founded the "Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" (CIPFG) on April 4, 2006. CIPFG has been collecting evidence of the crime of illegal organ harvesting. The following are several investigation leads obtained recently. We hope that people will continue to help expose how Falun Gong practitioners are brutally persecuted in forced labor camps, prisons, and hospitals in China, and help stop the persecution.

Unfortunately, the incriminating information on these websites has now been deleted.

(ii) Yunnan Kidney Hospital - Yunnan Organ Transplantation Sub-center

It was reported that the kidneys transplanted in Guangdong Province mostly come from Kunming City, Yunnan Province. These kidneys are being removed and directly put on an airplane and shipped to Guangdong. Some of the patients had been arranged to have surgery directly at Kunming.

(iii) Advertisements and Arrangements of a Company in Singapore in 2004

(a) Double security of the kidney source in order to synchronize two fresh kidneys for the patient.

(b) The patients don't have to wait, and another kidney will be provided at any time if serious complications should occur within 10 days.

(c) Guarantee that the kidneys are from people who are no older than 30 years.

(d) The hospital that needs these kidneys will send people by airplane to get them. The kidney that will be transplanted will be put on ice no more than five minutes after removal. Then in less than two hours, the kidney will be transplanted into the patient.

(Note: Currently, this company does not advertise so blatantly)

(iv) Diary Notes of a Patient from Singapore after his Surgery at the Humen Taiping Hospital, Guangdong Province

The hospital that was involved in this case: Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Link:

Gao Wei, chief physician, personally performed the operation.

Gao Wei enjoys special benefits from State Department experts, members of the United States Institute of Kidney Disease, members of the European Dialysis Transplant Association, editors of the Chinese Organ Transplant Magazine, members of the Chinese Research Institute of Dialysis and Transplantation, members of the Chinese Medical Journal Editors, English contacts, the Asia-Pacific region Institute of Kidney Disease, the vice president of the Kunming kidney disease hospital, the director of the Blood Purification and Organ Transplantation Center of the Dongguan Taiping People's Hospital, the professor and chief physician of the First Military Medical University.

Time: August 2003

Nationality: Singapore

Person: Mr. A, a 52-year-old businessman, a genetic diabetes patient, who had heart bypass surgery (five bypass Operations)

"A Saturday in August, my third consecutive day without good sleep. This afternoon, I attended the cremation of a friend's final journey, a childhood companion, whom I had a 10-year friendship with.

"It was already 7 p.m. when I got home. Suddenly I felt tightness in my chest. At midnight, I constantly coughed and noticed that my abdomen, hands and feet were swollen. I was hospitalized at midnight. Professor Zhu, a heart disease expert diagnosed me with a myocardial infarction. I needed immediate vascular surgery to see whether the vessels was again blocked. Three days later, doctors announced their intention to perform an implanted catheter operation, inserting a total of two catheter stents, and they said that the success rate was very high and it was also very simple. However, the drugs would lead to renal failure, and once the kidney failure emerges, we must prepare to face dialysis (kidney dialysis) and kidney transplant issues.

"In late February of 2004, I contacted the Humen Taiping Hospital in Guangdong with the help of a friend and a local authority on kidneys. Simultaneously, I started to collect data on the hospital and found that they performed fresh kidney transplants on up to 300 patients over the last year. The patients were from home and abroad, and the success rate was over 90 percent. My blood type test report was faxed to the Taiping Hospital on February 28. Four days later, I received a notice from the hospital that they had found a kidney that matched my blood type and tissues up to 80% and I was able to get the transplant immediately.

"March 1, 2004, via Hong Kong to Shenzhen. Two hours later I arrived at the Humen Taiping Hospital. The appearance of the hospital was only average, a typical recently built state-owned hospital. The kidney transplant department was on the second, third and fourth floors of the hospital. The ward where I stayed was a big suite with a living room and a small kitchen. I only stayed there for two days before I received the operation. I stayed in the intensive care unit for five days and on the sixth day, I went back to my ward. The facilities match a four or five-star hotel with video, color TV, direct access to food from four restaurants, which are arranged by the hospital and the food could be delivered directly to the ward. There is a business center with Email, fax, and telephone to contact the outside world."

On March 5, Gao Wei personally performed the kidney transplant operation.

(2) Investigation Clue: Scholastic Articles Expose That a Large Number of Liver Transplants Were Performed at Guangzhou Zhongshan University and The First Center Hospital of Tianjin City

(i) Doctors from No. 1 Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Zhongshan University said that 368 liver transplants were performed in their hospital between January 2004 and December 2005.

The article "Reason and Treatment of Hyperbilirubinemia After Orthotopic Liver Transplants" was published in the second issue of Volume 16 (pages 117 to 120), the China Liver Disease Journal on February, 2008. The authors were doctors Ma Yi, He Xiaoshun, Zhu Xiaofeng, Wang Guodong, Wang Dongping, Ju Weiqiang, Wu Congwei, Hu Anbin, Tai Qiang from the No. 1 Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Zhongshan University. In this article, the authors noted the "Review and Analysis of Clinic Materials of 368 Patients with Orthotopic Liver Transplants in The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Zhongshan University between January 2004 and December 2005".

At least 368 orthotopic liver transplants were performed within a mere two years (between January 2004 and December 2005) in just one transplant center. The Department of Organ Transplant Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhongshan University averaged one organ transplant every two days. That number is huge. It mentioned also that "36 cases of hyperacute rejection reactions occurred." That can be interpreted as "no hyperacute rejection reactions occurred in over 300 cases." Such numbers support the existence of a huge live organ pool under the auspices of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime.

Two of the reference articles included the following information:

We can conclude from the first referenced article that Ma Yi, Zhu Xiaofeng, He Xiaoshun and others from the Department of Organ Transplant Surgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhongshan University, participated in removing organs from the donors.

The article was dated October 29, 2007.

(ii) Organ Transplant Center, The First Center Hospital of Tianjin (Oriental Organ Transplant Center)

The article "A Model of End-stage Liver Disease for Survival Evaluation of Patients with Benign Liver Diseases after Liver Transplant" was published in the second issue of Volume 16 (pages 134 to 135), China Liver Disease Journal on February, 2008. The authors were Zheng Weiping, Shen Zhongyang, Zhu Zhijun, Zheng Hong, Deng Yonglin, Pan Cheng, Liu Yihe and Sun Liying, doctors from the Organ Transplant Center, The First Center Hospital of Tianjin (Oriental Organ Transplant Center). The authors stated that, "From January, 2003 to April, 2005, there were 398 patients, ages 18 to 73 (47.9±9.5) who received a liver transplant for the first time. They had been diagnosed with benign liver disease, with 311 patients being male and 87 female. All of them received a liver transplant."

The above 398 cases were not all of the liver transplants performed at the Oriental Organ Transplant Center between January 2003 and April 2005. The articles spoke only of transplants for people "above age 18 who were given a liver transplant for the first time" and "were diagnosed with benign liver disease before the transplant."

The above facts (indication of a very large number of liver transplants performed) could be construed as evidence of organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners, according to the WOIPFG (World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong).

Hospitals and organ transplant centers suspected of having provided live organs from Falun Gong practitioners revealed their crimes not only on their websites, but also in newspaper and magazines. Such information can also be found in research periodicals such as the China Liver Disease Journal and Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery.

(3) Investigation Lead: Four Patients Receive Kidney Transplants at the Same Time in the No. 281 Hospital, Beidaihe, Qinghuangdao City

I have a friend who was suffering from kidney disease. In July 2008, my friend and three other kidney patients received kidney transplants at the same time, in the No. 281 hospital in Beidaihe. The source of the kidneys was not clear. We were not able to make any inquiries through the switchboard at both the No. 114 and No. 281 Hospital. We were told it was for security reasons.

The source of these kidneys is suspicious, especially given the security surrounding the surgeries. We ask the international community and organizations to investigate this matter.

Address of the No. 281 Hospital: Beidaihe, Qinghuangdao City

Telephone: 86-335-5360372 (pharmacy)

Physician-in-charge: Jiang Wei, 86-13333357727

(4) Investigation Lead: Suspicious Blood Drawing at the Forced Labor Camp in Huludao City, Liaoning Province

Around July or August 2005, I was on a hunger strike at the Huludao City's Forced Labor Camp, Liaoning Province. One day several doctors came and said they would conduct a health examination. At that time, I was emaciated and unable to walk. I said that I did not want to have this examination. Then one of them carried me on his back to the office. I found that the people in that office were all Falun Gong practitioners.

Maybe the drawing of our blood was related to the organ harvesting of practitioners, which is being conducted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

(5) Investigation Lead: The General Hospital of the Armed Police in Jiangxi Province Conducted Live Organ Harvesting

Recently, I met a former classmate at a get-together of classmates. She had a problem with her lower back and went to the General Hospital of the Jiang Provincial Armed Police for a checkup. She said when she arrived at the Urological Department, which is on the fifth floor, she saw advertisements about live kidney transplants. Some advertisements said the live kidneys were from the patients' family members in order to deceive the public.

She felt very odd that after the treatment someone who looked like a doctor came and asked her a lot of irrelevant questions, such as her work unit and information about her family. None of the information was recorded in her case history. It seemed that they wanted to know whether she had any ulterior motive to be there. (It looked like they were afraid of being investigated.)

(6) Kidney Transplant at the Chenzhou No. 1 People's Hospital, Hunan Province

The telephone number for the Kidney Transplant and Blood Purifying Center of the Chenzhou No. 1 People's Hospital, Hunan Province is: 86-735-2343229 ext. 2263 or 2267

Telephone of the Kidney and Heart Specialist Department of the Chenzhou No. 1 Hospital, Hunan Province: 86-735-2344149, 86-735-2343229 ext. 2230 or 2427.

This is the largest and the best hospital in Chenzhou City. It has conducted quite a few kidney, heart and cornea transplants in the past. We hope the international community and organizations can investigate the source of their organs.
