Sept. 26, 2008

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cui Dejun lived in Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province. On July 9, 2007, he was arrested and detained in the Wafangdian City Detention Center. He and an elderly male practitioner, whose name is unknown, from Fuzhoucheng Town, held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. They were tortured for many days using a "frame" -- a ladder-shaped finger-sized steel welded frame that is approximately one foot wide and two feet tall with attached handcuffs and shackles. Victims of this torture cannot stand, lie down, or sit straight, which causes excruciating pain. Mr. Cui was later transferred to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

On August 11, 2008, Mr. Cui escaped from the labor camp. In order to catch him, the police arrested his siblings at gunpoint on August 14 and 15, 2008. They also arrested Mr. Sun, a practitioner who was working for his brother. This group of people were detained in the Wafangdian City Detention Center, and were later released.
