"Loved the Fusion"

Jan. 29, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) Divine Performing Arts seems to be defying the odds at a time when even popular Broadway musicals are suffering from the economic downturn, as the DPA is consistently greeted with packed houses. Perhaps DPA owes its success to its mission: To rediscover and renew humanity's true, rightful cultural heritage.

Dancer Beth Furman

After seeing the Chinese New Year Splendor at Radio City Music Hall, dancer Beth Furman expressed respect and gratitude toward the performers, "Beautiful, absolutely spectacular! The dancing was incredibly light and airy, so we can appreciate it, actually, how hard all of it is." With a big grin on her face, she went on to share what she had just discovered from the show, "I love the fusion of modern gymnastics movement and acrobatics movement with classical ballet. You know, what I knew as classical ballet, [because] I didn't know classical Chinese dance, [and] that's what it was. I was really amazed by that. I love that."

Tana Kellner, artistic director of Woman's Studio Workshop

Tana Kellner, artistic director of Woman's Studio Workshop, called the Splendor "Very exciting," "I was amazed by the colors, [they were] over the top!" She especially enjoyed the dance "Welcoming Spring" and remarked, "Choreography of the entire performance was splendid. It was very effective." The digital animation on the backdrop also took her by surprise, "I didn't expect it, very nicely done!"
