Jan. 30, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of January 27, 2009, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Touring Company gave its third show in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The DPA put five thousand years of Chinese culture on a western stage, offering the audience a feast of art and insights into the meaning of life.

President of the New York Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association: A must-See

Justin Yu, President of the New York Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association.

Justin Yu, President of the New York Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, thought the DPA presented the essence of traditional Chinese culture. "Chinese culture is a divinely-inspired culture. The five thousand years of culture was sabotaged by the Marx-Lenin atheism," said Mr. Yu. "The DPA's show represents a revival of orthodox Chinese culture, which is very important. The program I saw today truly expressed the essence of Chinese culture."

Mr. Yu said that all the programs went smoothly and had their own uniqueness. "I am glad to have come to the show today. I will tell my Chinese friend that all Chinese need to see it, and my western friends that it's a must-see if you want to understand China.'"

New immigrant: It touches me

Ms. Li came to the U.S. from Henan Province, China two years ago and she came to the show with a friend. She was very impressed.

"It was a high quality show-- the dances, costumes, colors and the production were top notch. Being Chinese, I feel very proud to see such a show in the United States."

"When I watched the show about Falun Gong-- 'Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution'-- it felt so real that I actually cried." Ms. Li's brother experienced similar treatment as Falun Gong practitioners, although he practices a different belief.

A Superintendent of a multinational media company: divine culture is the world's fortune

Julie is a Chinese woman who works in the Spanish Department of the Animus Entertainment Group. She is in charge of TV and movie creation and development. This was her second time watching a DPA show. She loved the dances, music, costumes and brilliant colors. She especially loved the creativity of the background projection.

"The show teaches people to be tolerant, caring and understanding. People need to help each other to face difficulties and evil. In this chaotic world, no one can know what will happen. No matter how much money one possesses, it can be gone overnight. There is karmic retribution in reincarnations. Atheism really put many people in trouble because it eliminates religious beliefs. This show is trying to remind people to believe in Gods."

"The show also reminds me to cherish my own culture. Being a Chinese, I honestly feel proud."

Conductor of a chorus: the DPA's show is entertaining

Lin Xinwen is the chief art officer and conductor of the Northern New Jersey Chinese American Hwa Yin Youth Chorale. She is also a soprano and a piano teacher. Ms. Lin believes the DPA artists are very professional and that was why they have such great success. "The DPA combines music, singing, and dancing in a perfect way. The orchestra, the soloists, and the pianists did great."

Ms. Lin said she felt especially happy to see such a show as an overseas Chinese, "It's entertaining. Nowadays people are very stressed, plus with the economic crisis, I felt joyous to see such a good performance today."
