(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Westerner who has practiced Falun Dafa for almost five years. I would like to offer a short example of working as one with Chinese practitioners and saving sentient beings.

We often go out to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa in our city and quite often some veteran Chinese practitioners come to join us from other cities. One of these practitioners is very good at helping other Chinese people quit the CCP. I will call her Auntie. Auntie does not speak any English, while I do not speak any Chinese.

At first I used to look on in wonder at how quickly Auntie helped Chinese people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, especially the students. I used to ask the other practitioners, "What is her technique, what does she say?" But this was the same as seeking externally. Like Master said in Zhuan Falun;

"Some people don't understand it, and they think there's got to be some secret of success, so they seek out famous masters, 'Please let me in on your special tips, and then my mind can become still.' But the way I see it, that's still looking outward. If you want to improve yourself, you need to look inward and work hard on your mind."

After enlightening to this I realized it was not what she said that was important but the pure heart with which she said it.

Auntie always smiles and laughs and is kind to everyone.

I used to regard her as an outstanding practitioner because she could help Chinese quit the CCP so well, but then I saw how she was struck down by illness karma one day and could not join us. This helped me understand something else Master said in Zhuan Falun:

"The reason I'm pointing this out to you is to tell you that once people like that appear, you have to really be sure you don't regard them as some kind of amazing Enlightened Beings. This is a serious problem in cultivation. Someone is right only when he acts in line with this Dafa. Don't follow others or go and listen to them when you see their abilities, or divine powers, or whatever it is. You'll hurt them, their attachment of happiness will well up, and they'll lose everything they have in the end, everything will be shut down, and eventually they'll fall to the bottom. Somebody who's Unlocked can still fall down, and if a person doesn't handle himself well, even if he's Enlightened, he can fall down, too. Even when a Buddha doesn't handle himself well he'll fall, let alone you--somebody who's cultivating right in the thick of ordinary people!"

Once I began to regard Auntie as just another cultivator I began to see how we could work together. Some other practitioners began to call her 'Our secret weapon!' I reminded them that this attitude would only put pressure on Auntie and make her a target for the old forces.

I felt very strongly that I should be helping more Chinese quit the CCP. But my lack of courage and language barriers were holding me back. So while I improved in this area I decided to help Auntie as much as possible.

Whenever it is appropriate I will stand close by and send righteous thoughts very strongly toward the person she is talking with to destroy the evil elements preventing them from being saved. This way, despite language barriers I can help Auntie in saving sentient beings and I begin to experience one area where I can work together as one with a Chinese practitioner.
