Five Falun Gong Practitioners Illegally Detained for Months in Loudi City, Hunan Province

Dec. 16, 2009 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of December 8, 2009 Lan Zhixue and Zhang Chuanli, two attorneys from the Beijing Jiafa Law Firm, went to the Prosecutor's Office at Louxing District Procuratorate in Loudi City, Hunan Province. Lan Zhixue telephoned Liu Gang, a person-in-charge at the Procuratorate. Liu Gang replied, "None of the arrests were approved and the cases have been returned to District Domestic Security Bureau for additional investigation."

At least five Falun Gong practitioners were arrested a few months ago, including Ouyang Zhong, Liu Xinping, Cao Gongxun, Zhou Qingfeng, and He Jinlin. The evidence submitted by the Louxing Domestic Security Bureau, all fabricated and flawed, has been returned by the Procuratorate. However, the Louxing Domestic Security Bureau officials have still refused to release these practitioners.

On the afternoon of December 8, 2009 attorney Lan Zhixue visited practitioner Mr. Ouyang Zhong, who was detained at the No. 2 Detention Center in Loudi City. Meanwhile, attorney Zhang Chuanli visited practitioner Mr. Liu Xinping, who was detained at the No. 1 Detention Center in Loudi City.

Mr. Ouyang Zhong is a doctor specializing in Chinese herbal medicine. He has three children to raise, two of which are still in kindergarten, and his wife does not work. On the evening of July 15, 2009 Louxing District police broke into his home, arrested him, and illegally detained him since then.

Mr. Liu Xinping, in his 30s, came from northern China. After being persecuted (including detention) in his hometown, he was forced to stay away from his home (to avoid further persecution) and work out of town for more than six years. On the evening of July 15, 2009 Louxing District police broke in and arrested him. They have illegally detained him since then.

Practitioners Mr. Cao Gongxun and Mr. Zhou Qingfeng were also arrested on the evening of December 15, 2009. Police broke into their homes, arrested them, and illegally detained them since then. Previously, in January 2002 Loudi City Party officials sentenced Mr. Zhou Qingfeng to seven years and did not release him until January 2009.

Mr. He Jinlin, a motorcycle taxi driver, was arrested on September 10, 2009. Plainclothes police first deceived him by directing him to a place for fishing. A police car then showed up and police arrested him. Mr. He Jinlin has been illegally detained since then at the No. 1 Detention Center in Loudi City.

Before that, the Louxing District Intermediate Court sentenced practitioner Mr. Liang Keming at 3:30 p.m. on October 13, 2009. Tan Xiaogui and Tan Jinmei were jurors with Jin Xuecen as the court clerk. It was not until after 11:00 a.m. on October 13 that Mr. Liang Keming's wife received a phone call from the detention center notifying her about the trial in the afternoon. Loudi City officials previously sentenced Mr. Liang Keming, a taxi driver, to seven years in February 2001. At that time, without notifying his family members about the verdict, officials secretly sent him to Jin City Labor Camp and did not release him until February 2008. On the evening of June 25, 2009, two plainclothes policemen deceptively arranged for him to go to the State Security Bureau and arrested him there. Louxing District Court will soon hold another trial for Mr. Liang Keming because of his request to appeal.
