Singapore: Rally against Torture and in Support of the Spanish Court's Indictment (Photos)

Dec. 20, 2009 |   By a practitioner in Singapore

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 18, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore held a rally in Hong Lim Park to publicize information on the Spanish court's indictment of Jiang Zemin and four other Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials for their crimes of genocide and torture. The rally also called on people to pay attention to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and help to end it. A telephone interview with a witness of the CCP's organ harvesting from a living Falun Gong practitioner was recently made public. It further substantiated the ongoing CCP atrocity of live organ harvesting.

Several hundred employees of the Singapore Department of Human Resources, outside due to a fire drill, saw the practitioners' banners

The practitioners held banners in both English and Chinese. They read: "Peaceful Anti-torture Appeal. CCP, Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong" and "The Spanish Court Indicted Jiang Zemin and 4 Other Chinese Communist Party Officials for the Persecution of Falun Gong." Four panels of poster boards showed how Falun Gong has spread worldwide, gave details of the CCP's systemic persecution and its extension overseas, told about the CCP's live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, and explained the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin and his followers. An on-site reenactment of CCP torture was a painful reminder of the CCP's inhumane persecution. Paintings by practitioners that appealed to the viewer's conscience were displayed on four panels.

The event ended at 5 p.m. After group practice, the practitioners held a candlelight vigil to commemorate fellow practitioners who were tortured to death by the CCP. After leaving work at 5 p.m., many passersby accepted flyers or stopped to talk with the practitioners for more details.

A local resident passing by said to a practitioner, "I know Falun Gong. I support Falun Gong."

Mary from Spain was proud when she learned about the progress of the lawsuit against Jiang. In her opinion, the Spanish judicial system was truly independent.

Mr. Sun said during an interview, "My wife and I read the report 'Witness discloses live organ harvesting.' We were shocked. Such a thing should not be happening in today's world. Although it has been publicized, the issue has not been paid enough attention to. It is an absolute disgrace."

Mr. Li started practicing Falun Gong four months ago. His diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis all disappeared. Though he is nearly 60 years old, he went back to work again.

Cindy participated in a reenactment of CCP torture for the first time. It brought her to tears. She said, "I feel as if I am truly being persecuted. I feel such sorrow for fellow practitioners suffering persecution. I hope more people will stand up and stop the persecution."

The activity ended at 8 p.m.
