DAEGU, South Korea--Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company performed two shows at Suseong Artpia in Daegu, South Korea, on Saturday January 31. After seeing the show, former Member of Parliament Mr. Gang Sinseongil praised the performance.

"It is excellent, easy to understand, and full of color."

Mr. Gang Sinseongil was a famous movie star in Korea in the 1960s and 1970s. The English word "star" became popular in Korea because of him.

Mr. Gang said, "Historically and traditionally, Korea is very close to China. People can find that out from Korean creations. We have always kept in touch with Chinese history, and we have many chances to walk close to Chinese culture, so the show is easy for us to understand. From my point of view, the programs seamlessly connect to each other. The general director of the show must be a hard working person."

The guiding mission of DPA is to rediscover and renew humanity's true, rightful cultural heritage. The company thus creates and performs works that center upon the true, divinely bestowed culture of humankind, and seeks to provide an experience of consummate beauty and goodness.

Mr. Gang praised the dance artists as remarkable and said, "The show is very colorful, full of Chinese characters. Traditional Korean color is very beautiful, but the Chinese colors are better--the color makes all the programs outstanding, and the programs are easy to understand, too. I hardly noticed the time. I must thank them."

Identifying himself as a Buddhist, Mr. Gang said he enjoyed the program "The Monkey King Triumphs".

One of Chinese history's most beloved characters, Monkey King springs to life in this adaptation of a scene from the 16th century novel Journey to the West. The protagonist, a Buddhist monk, is traveling to India in search of scriptures, joined by an ogre, a pig, and a miraculous monkey.

"It is easy to understand--my kids all like it. It is a program of concise content selection, but interesting. Actually the whole show is interesting. I should use the word beautiful, it is truly beautiful."

Mr. Gang Sinseongil started his acting career in 1960. In Korea he is viewed as a national treasure. After he retired as an actor, he worked as director, producer, and chairman of the Korean Movie Association. He was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2000.
