DAEGU, South Korea--"After watching it yesterday, I couldn't help but to come and watch it again today," said Mr. Yu, a former army general, famed professor at Kyungwoon University in Gumi, Gyeongbuk province, and essayist.

He was referring to the New York-based Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour show playing at Suseong Artpia in Daegu from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2. He arrived at the venue again for the final show after enjoying it on the previous day.

"Yesterday I was late and missed the opening piece. It was such a pity. So today I brought a few friends along. The backdrops and the dancers are in perfect harmony. After witnessing the 5,000 years of Chinese history, I feel that I need to learn more about this culture," said Mr. Yu.

He emphasized that the performance was "extremely exquisite and I could feel its deep meaning. After I return home, I will write down my experience and feeling. This has become a great opportunity for me to learn the Chinese culture."

Korean culture was strongly influence by the Chinese culture throughout history. Many Koreans' ancestors were actually Chinese.

He said that the current Chinese Communist Party disregards this culture. "They do not know that this is the genuine culture of China. Nowadays, tens of millions of people have quit the Chinese Communist Party, and I think the show has played a prominent role."

"The performance has depth in it. The stage setting is luxurious, very touching, and particularly the last part that revealed the truth--one needs to relinquish desires and live uprightly--this is also my standard for myself, and honesty [is also conveyed]."

An army academy graduate, Mr. Yu was once a general. He was also a pious Buddhist. Back in his army days, the soldiers called him 'Muyu' General, in reference to 'muyu,' the instrument monks beat while chanting scriptures in temples.

He "strongly agrees" with the five-millennia-old divinely-imparted culture of China. He said that retribution is part of divine beings' order. Therefore one must live compassionately.

On Feb. 1 when he first saw DPA, he said that he thought there was a special "predestined relationship" for him to see the show in Korea, as he impulsively decided to buy the ticket after hearing about it from a friend. He will definitely introduce this "miraculous" show to his children and friends in Seoul, for them to enjoy the "inspiration" brought by DPA.

"I think for this traditional Chinese performance to be played in South Korea, it is because it has a special predestined relationship with the country. I feel very proud, that's why I want to introduce people to this show."
