Taichung: Divine Performing Arts Show a Big Success (Photos)

March 9, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 5, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company held a successful show at Chunghsing University in Taichung.

Mr. Jiang, president of a large military court, watched the show with his wife. Amazed by the performance, Mr. Jiang said, "I didn't know Chinese dance could be performed this way." He said the dances he liked most were Mongolian Chopsticks and Dragon Springs Drummers.

Mr. Jiang's wife said that she felt that watching the show was like a spiritual journey. On one hand, the audience could gain more insight into Chinese culture. On the other, they could appreciate the dances of various ethnic groups. "The show was fantastic!" she said.

After watching the show, Mrs. Jiang said that as they were seated near the stage, they were able to see clearly the dancers' facial expressions, which helped her to identify with the stories told through the dances. She said, "I felt deeply touched, especially by Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution. I was almost in tears." The dance shows a peaceful community in which a father greets friends and cares for his wife and child. As he sits to practice the Falun Dafa meditation, a group of policemen assault him and drag him away.

Seeing how the kind-hearted people in Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution were mistreated, Mr. Jiang commented that as a judge, he believes the righteous will eventually overpower the evil. Although the kind people were attacked by the evil in the beginning, eventually good won out.

Mrs. Jiang said that throughout the show, there was a variety of stories, and all of them were very moving. She also remarked that the costumes and the dancers' hair ornaments were exquisite and unique. She said, "They were really marvelous." Mr. Jiang and his wife were surprised to learn from the emcees' introduction that most of the performers were Chinese who grew up in the United States, and said that they were indeed incredible. They wondered what made them come together and become such world-class performers.

Finally Mr. Jiang said, "As these young overseas Chinese who grew up in the States are able to present Chinese culture so well, we, people living in Taiwan, should understand the culture even more."

Chou Yihsiung, a legislator from Nantou, expressed that the show really moved him. He paid special attention to the dancers' costumes. He said, "The costumes were extravagant yet natural. They are our traditional costumes."

Mr. Chou said that he could tell that every actor has been well-trained and that they are proud of being a member of the troupe. He said the profound contents of the show have made the DPA a world class organization. "I had special feelings in my heart when I was watching the show. With your heart, you can really appreciate the profound content, which is different from other shows."

Mr. Chou Yuman, a legislator from Miaoli, said, "The show has positive messages in it. We want to purify society, so I hope more people will contribute to that end, as the DPA performers are doing."

Mr. Chou highly praised the dancers' professional skills and spirit. He has seen shows in Mainland China, but he said, "The DPA show is very different. I've never seen such a spectacular show before."

The Mayor of Beidou Town, Mr. Chan Mengshi came to the show with his friends and wife. He was touched by the part of the performance that depicted the persecution of Falun Gong. He said, "It was touching. In modern society, many people don't believe in gods. That is wrong. We need to believe in gods and understand the relationship between our actions and what we experience as a result of those actions in the future."
