A Kind, Elderly Man Teaches the Police a Lesson

June 24, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) A kind, elderly man lives in a small village near Qingdao City, Shandong Province. He helps his son take care his store every day, and he enjoys talking to practitioners about Falun Gong.

Prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, police officers were stationed in front of the elderly man's store to monitor the practitioners in the village. The man was opposed what the police were doing, so he told them, "Don't station yourselves here anymore. I feel afraid when I see anyone wearing your uniform." The policemen asked him why. He said, "When I was young, I was beaten up by 'bad people.' Now your uniform reminds me of those bad people." The police felt awkward and left.

The next day, the police returned wearing plainclothes. The elderly man pretended not to recognize them as police officers. He said to them, "I heard that nowadays the police do not arrest bad people, but good people. Those Falun Gong practitioners don't do things such as steal, rob, kill, or commit arson; they always do good things and are considerate of others, and yet the police arrest them. But as for murderers, arsonists, thieves, corrupt officials and criminals, the police ignore them after being bribed. What kind of the society is this when even the authorities cannot tell right from wrong?" Hearing this, the officers did not know what to say and quickly left.

After that, whenever the plainclothes police showed up, the old man would manage to inform the practitioners and remind them to be careful. He also told his children, "Falun Gong is good; don't do anything to harm Dafa or practitioners. You must do good things and accumulate your virtue!"
