(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts made its last appearance for this season at the Kennedy Center Opera House on Sunday, Aug. 30, receiving a resounding standing ovation from the audience. Joining the Washington DC audience to watch the final performance during its August run was Professor Shahamat Khan, who brought several members of his family to see Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time. "Excellent show. It was beautiful," he said immediately afterwards.

The professor shared that the tickets were actually a birthday gift for his granddaughter, Nadia, who was delighted with her present. "It's wonderful, it's probably the best birthday gift ever! It's really awesome."

For young Nadia, seeing New York-based Shen Yun was very special, "Because it's really interesting and very cultural. In fact, I've been to China when I was little, and it really captures the culture very nicely. I think it's extremely interesting, and has a very good message: That peace is very nice, and looking at everybody equally makes you a better person."

Her sister Yasmeen was greatly moved by the show. "The values and underlying messages were just really moving and inspirational!"

Elaborating further she added, "The show is just amazing...the costumes were beautiful, the music was fantastic!"

In conclusion, she said of Shen Yun, "Absolutely mind-blowing. It was really great!"

Physicist: "Very Graceful and Very Deep"

Also among the audience were Mr. Sartain, a U.S. government physicist, and Mrs. Sartain, a computer analyst who runs her own home-based business.

"I didn't know what to expect because I've never been to anything like this before," said Mr. Sartain. "It was very colorful. The dance was very good, very graceful, and ... very deep."

The backdrops that accompany the Shen Yun dance and vocal performances have enhanted audiences world-wide with breath-taking scenes ranging from beautiful landscapes to celestial palaces.

As a technical person, Mr. Sartain found the show's backdrops to be "really fascinating."

Mrs. Sartain noted the elegance of Chinese classical dance as presented by Shen Yun, a historically and culturally rich dance system several millennia old. "It was very, very graceful; very deliberate movement," she said. "They are patient--patient in the dance, and so the movements were very defined. I thought about it a lot to be able to describe it. I really enjoyed it."

For the Sartains, purchasing tickets to Shen Yun was a happy surprise and a coincidence. "We didn't know there was anything like this. We actually made a trip to the mall one day, and there were tables set up in the mall that were selling tickets. So it was just something that we stumbled across!"

Mr. Sartain said that Shen Yun will become more well-known as people start to tell their friends and family about it. To recommend the show, he bought a few Shen Yun photo albums for his grandson in Florida.

Mr. Sartain said that he will definitely recommend the show to others. "Go see it, it's worth the trip, even if you have to fly! It's really unique."
