(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Xueqin started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Within a short time all of her illnesses disappeared. She enjoyed her good health and was deeply grateful to Teacher Li and Dafa. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang was arrested many times because she spoke up for Falun Gong.

Arrested for Speaking the Truth

July 20, 1999 marked the onset of the persecution. Ms. Zhang Xueqin appealed for justice for Falun Gong. On April 8, 2000, she and another practitioner, Ms. Mao Cuilian, went to Beijing. They opened a banner that displayed facts about Falun Gong at the Golden Water Bridge square. Both were arrested and taken to the Xiaogan City government liaison's Beijing office. Officers from the Anlu Municipal Domestic Security Bureau took them back to their home areas and detained them in Sili until September.

Tortured by Police

In April 2001, Ms. Zhang Xueqin, Wang Jiafen and other practitioners again went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. The police arrested them in Guangshui City and took them again to the Sili Detention Center in Anlu City. Ms. Zhang Xueqin went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest. The guards force-fed her and injected her with unknown drugs. Ms. Zhang's entire body became numb and an indescribable feeling affected her heart. Then she lost consciousness.

In 2002, Ms. Zhang Xueqin went to Beijing again and opened a Dafa banner at Tiananmen Square. She was arrested and taken to a newly established forced labor camp. The prison guards searched her for money and stripped her off all her clothes. Ms. Zhang did not want a small Falun Gong emblem she had with her confiscated, so she swallowed it. Two guards held her arms, one held her legs and the female guard grabbed Ms. Zhang by her hair and shook her head up and down with one hand. With the other hand she tried to pull the emblem from Ms. Zhang's throat. The woman tore a large piece of hair off Ms. Zhang's head. Ms. Zhang lost consciousness because of the pain. She did not know what time she came to, but she found herself in a morgue. The guards forced her to provide hand and footprints.

Once, Ms. Zhang Xueqin noticed that a guard held a small medicine bottle and poured some powder into the noodles that practitioners were going to eat. He carelessly dropped the bottle and white powder could be seen on the floor. The practitioners refused to eat the noodles and went on a hunger strike.

At a later date, Ms. Zhang Xueqin and other practitioners were held in the Sili Detention Center. The guards put some drugs into their food. Ms. Zhang Xueqin went on a hunger strike. The guards tortured her and only released her when they couldn't feel her pulse.

Tortured in a Forced Labor Camp

One night around 2:00 a.m. at the beginning of 2002, officers Chen Xudong (female), Li Ning, Shen Chao, Chen Xinyun, Mei Dean and Huang Yajun broke into Ms. Zhang Xueqin's home and arrested her. That night, the Domestic Security Division arrested many practitioners.

The Domestic Security Division of Anlu City sentenced Ms. Zhang Xueqin to two years of forced labor and "re-education" because she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang was detained in Brigade Two of the Women's Forced Labor Camp at Shayang City. She was forced to stand facing a wall with her head pressed against the wall, her body upright. She was forbidden to move, disallowed to use the restroom, and deprived of sleep. In addition to this torture, a drug-addict kicked her legs often. Ms. Zhang Xueqing was forced to stand like this for several consecutive days and nights, after which she felt very sick and vomited frequently.

Ms. Zhang Xueqin also witnessed the guards from the Second Brigade brutally torturing practitioners. They used electric batons and beat the practitioners until their bodies were bloody. They also kicked female practitioners' lower body parts. They inserted a broom stained with excrement into the mouths of practitioners. They injured practitioners' eyes and some lost their eyesight. Some practitioners were beaten until disabled or until they died.

Ms. Zhang was forced to recite the prison regulations and CCP slogans. If she refused she was deprived of sleep, forced to stand facing a wall or forced to run. She had to perform forced labor, such as grilling peanuts, digging holes for planting trees, digging up fields and so on. If she could not finish her assigned quota she was not given any food. Generally, Ms. Zhang was only allowed to sleep for four to five hours every night.

Because of the two years of torture she suffered in the forced labor camp, Ms. Zhang's still can't see very well, has lost her hearing, and is mentally traumatized.
