(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts completed its two-show run at the Sacramento Community Center Theater Tuesday evening as part of its 2010 world tour. Bonnie Spears, a former professional dancer who studied ballet and modern jazz, attended the show with her friend, Ms. Doane, an arts enthusiast. Both were deeply moved by New York-based Shen Yun.

Ms. Spears found the show inspiring, "I think it has a very spiritual meaning--very, very spiritual, and that's how I felt. It was very enlightening. The songs that they sang connect to your heart, about the world, and how we really ought to live as human beings. I was very touched by that. I realized I need to develop my compassion more. I was very touched tonight--I mean, on many, many levels."

Ms. Doane said it might be difficult to explain Shen Yun to her friends. "I've got the brochure to explain to them but the thing is--you got to see it! Because I can't begin to explain it in words. It all visually, audibly, and heart strings pulls you, and you can see [the dancers] love what they do. They're trying to preserve their culture and share it with the rest of the world," she added.

Ms. Spears said excitedly that she "enjoyed it so--the costumes and the singing--just spectacular! It was beautiful!"

She described the dancers by saying, "I've never seen anything like it. It took my heart. It just really took my heart. Because what they have to put into that is years and years. And you can really see it. We're talking about their hand movements. It takes years! And then they're so precise! I mean all of them."

Ms. Doane continued, "It reminded me of looking through a kaleidoscope, constantly, to watch how everything was flowing. And the colors! It was magnificent. I really enjoyed it tremendously."

She was already looking forward to her next time seeing Shen Yun, "I want to go next year. It's great!"

Ms. Spears was also impressed with the costumes, saying emphatically, "They were just stunning--the work that went into them! It was like a moving painting. That's how I saw it. It was just like a moving painting-- it was that beautiful. And they were all so pretty!"

Both ladies enjoyed Shen Yun's orchestra, which combines traditional Chinese with Western instruments.

Ms. Spears said, "Their orchestra was fabulous, and I really enjoyed and appreciated listening to the classical Chinese instruments. We don't get an opportunity here to hear it, so it was very interesting. I had no idea that an instrument that only [has] two strings (erhu) could sound so beautiful!"

Ms. Spears described the show as, "Spiritual awakening dance and music." and that her friends, "would have to come. They would have to come and see it!"
