Putting Ourselves Aside and Improving Through Cooperation

Jan. 15, 2010 |   By Gu Guang

(Clearwisdom.net) In every lecture of 2009, Teacher discussed the importance of cooperating as a group. While it was previously acceptable to act on one's own, as the Fa rectification period is now nearing its end, practitioners need to cooperate as a whole body to save more people effectively. How do we cooperate well? To start with, we must cast our human notions aside and cooperate in all tasks that contribute to validating the Fa and saving sentient beings, whether they conform to our personal conceptions or not, and whether they seem "ingenious" or "foolish." Only then will miracles happen and lead to improvement for practitioners as a whole.

Truth clarification materials had been distributed across most of our area, leaving only several scattered mountainous villages untouched. These villages were far away and required travel over rigorous terrain. I found a practitioner with a motorcycle and asked him, "How should we clarify the truth to these people?"

He replied, "Taking a taxi wastes a lot of money, but my motorcycle is not reliable and is prone to breaking down. Last time I rode it to hand out truth clarification materials, it broke down on the way, so let's ride bicycles."

I said, "Then let's take the bus for the first 35 kilometers. We can put our bikes on the bus and ride them for the last 45 kilometers."

"We don't need to take the bus," he said. "Let's just ride the whole way."

So I placed aside my "ingenious" idea and agreed to pedal all the way.

We completed the journey without a single obstacle. While we were handing out flyers, even the village dogs stopped barking. We didn't feel tired, and our bodies seemed as light as air. We finished handing out the flyers with no setbacks. At the time we both sensed Teacher at our sides, filling us with energy at every moment. The practitioner who came with me said this was an unforgettable and unique partnership.

From this incident I realized that old-fashioned, "foolish" ideas are not, in fact, foolish. Perhaps they simply reflect returning to one's origin. What Teacher and the righteous deities look at is not how clever our methods are, but how much we believe in Teacher and the Fa. In other words, the level of our xinxing.

I hope we can cooperate better as a whole and save more people, so that we don't forsake the benevolent chance Teacher has given us, and so that we don't fail the sentient beings waiting to be saved.
