Ms. Wang Guoxin and Ms. Xing Liqiu Persecuted for Talking to People About Falun Gong

Oct. 30, 2010 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Guoxin and Ms. Xing Liqiu from Dezhou City, Shandong Province, were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division in Dezhou and Dongdi Police Station in Decheng District on October 12, 2010, when they were seen speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at a local market. They were detained at Dongdi Police Station and then taken to Dezhou Detention Center the same day. Zhang Xikun, from the Public Security branch in Decheng District, led other officers to ransack Ms. Xing's home at 1:00 p.m. They confiscated a computer, Dafa books, and a cell phone.

Ms. Wang Gouxin

Ms. Wang Guoxin, 49, started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. She previously suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, and her hands and feet had become deformed from the illness. She had tried several forms of medical treatment, but to no avail, and remained bedridden. Within several months after beginning Falun Gong cultivation practice, the pain in her joints disappeared and she could walk again.

When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal. She was arrested by agents from the Dezhou Liaison Office in Beijing, and detained at the Mazhuang Residential Committee Office in Decheng for several days. A man with the surname Wang, head of the Dongdi Residential Committee Office in Decheng, ordered several people to closely monitor her.

Early in lunar new year 2000, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal again. When she stood on Tiananmen Square and shouted "Falun Dafa is good," she was beaten and kicked by the police. She was then dragged into a police car and taken to the Dezhou Liaison Office. She was handcuffed and detained there for two days, and was not allowed to eat or drink. She was then transferred to the Dezhou Detention Center for one month. Officials from the Mazhuang Residential Committee were worried that Ms. Wang would cause trouble for them, so they had her sent to Dongdi Police Station, where she was put in an iron cage and tortured.

Wang Yinglin and several other officers from Dongdi Police Station broke into Ms. Wang's home in April 2002. They kicked and beat her, and broke her arm. She was first taken to Dongdi Police Station, and then to Dezhou Detention Center. She received no treatment for her arm and it became swollen and extremely painful. Ms. Wang was twice interrogated by Liu Dawei from Decheng Public Security, and was told that if she didn't give up her belief, she would be forced to sign a guarantee statement. Ms. Wang was sent to brainwashing sessions at the Guotai Hotel in Dezhou two weeks later, and forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. She was not allowed to talk to any other practitioners and was constantly monitored.

Ms. Wang's husband divorced her because she was always being arrested.

Ms. Xing Liqiu

Ms. Xing Liqiu, 55, is a retired employee from the Dezhou Refinery Plant. Before she began practicing Falun Gong in 1997, she suffered from nephritis, insomnia, lower back pain, and other illnesses. After practicing the exercises and readingZhuan Falun, her symptoms disappeared.

In December 2000, Ms. Xing went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested by officer Zhu Jianqiang from the Dezhou Development Zone. She was detained for three days at her workplace, and was then taken to Dezhou Detention Center. Her husband sent her clothes and other items while she was in the detention center, but they were all seized by the guards. The items they didn't want for themselves were sold to the prisoners. Each detainee is given a meal consisting of five small slices of black corn bread, a bowl of cabbage soup, and some pickles every day. The detainees have to pay for their meals, which is expensive and the quantity of food is never enough. After two weeks in detention, Ms. Xing's husband paid 20,000 yuan to bail her out. One month of her salary and her annual work bonus of 1,200 yuan were withheld from her workplace, and they only paid her 260 yuan for her living expenses.

Fang Suyun, head of the Public Security branch in Dezhou Development Zone, sent several officers to Ms. Xing's home in March 2001. She was arrested and detained for over forty days.

When Ms. Xing was reported to the authorities on August 1, 2006, Zhang Zhen and eight other police officers ransacked her home. They confiscated her Dafa books, truth-clarification materials, and over 1,000 yuan in cash. Both her and her husband, a non-practitioner, were later arrested and taken to the Public Security branch. Her husband was released at around 5:00 p.m., but she was sent to Dezhou Detention Center at 6:00 p.m., where she was held for a month.

Ms. Xing was then taken to Jinan First Women's Forced Labor Camp by Liu Dawei from the Public Security branch at Decheng. She was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. Practitioners who refuse to renounce their belief were locked in a small, dark and dirty cell, and forced to sit motionlessly on a small, narrow bench for long periods of time. They are also forced to labor for many hours per day, only allowed limited amount of times to use the restroom, and are forced to watch videos that slander Falun Gong. Under this intense pressure, the guards attempt to get practitioners to sign guarantee statements to renounce their beliefs.

When Ms. Xing was released, officer Zhang Zhen from the Development Zone continued harassing her at her home, which caused her and her family great distress.
